Thank you to everyone who voted!

Winner's will be chosen by the judges who will read all of the books in their categories and cast their votes in liveshows on The Owlery's YouTube channel in January and February.

There is also a viewer's choice poll here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...
You can vote to let us know which of these finalists is YOUR choice! In the event that the judges tie, we will refer to which book got the most votes in this poll.

Hannah (bookbuyingbybudget) | 2 comments Wow, Sarah J. Maas got two books in Fantasy. I feel like next year you could put a "only one book per author per category" clause to make it more fair for less popular authors?

Of course! I just always wonder if a book is actually THE best book of the year, or just the most popular. In fact, I'm not sure how one would go about picking the best book of the year..... so maybe popular choice is the best way..... I don't know.

Thanks for the input! We allowed it since her 2 books are from different series.

Any "awards" that are chosen through votes only will always reward the most popular books, not necessarily the best since people likely haven't read EVERY book in the category. That's why our awards have judges too. The judges will read them and be able to accurately compare all of them. But yeah, some of us aren't totally happy with everything that got voted through either, haha.

Adding to this to say, there have been discussions about if there's a better way to run the voting next year and if you have suggestions about that or the awards in general PLEASE let us know. We'll have an official feedback form going up after the liveshows are over (I think).
