Has anybody here already read Wool Omnibus? I've read the first three parts (stories? novelettes?), and they all revolve around the office of the sheriff, if not any particular holder of that office, so I'm wondering if that holds true for the entire 5-part arc.

This is based on the facts of Wyatt Earp's life, but is a fictional story. My main complaint with this book is that women are only there to throw themselves at the men in their lives to make wild love to them, look pretty on the men's arms, or nurse them back to good health after a shootout.
Mary wrote: "Wyatt Earp by Matt Braun Although Wyatt Earp didn't become sheriff (I was quite disappointed to learn), his running for sheriff of Cochise County was the main cause of what happened in this telling..."
That's a shame about the treatment of women in the story. This reminds me, somewhere I have a nonfiction book that has to do with law enforcement in the Wild West. I'll have to find it and see if it qualifies for this prompt.

It was certainly disappointing.
