Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments Well its on Goodreads here https://www.goodreads.com/story/list/... but I still have yet to finish putting it all on.

I don't know how anyone can find it on this site if I didn't tell them the link tho, plus I haven't read any other people's writing on here yet. There's just way too many to choose from! Its because I'd prefer to read a story in a real book than read a story online.

Also I'm not sure if I have the energy or the money to go into publishing yet. I'm just at a stage where just want to tell a good yarn and hopefully SOME people may enjoy it.

Emeri | 8 comments Hello, Everyone! I love a good autobiographical read written by a female comedian in her 20s or 30s. I'm currently in my quarter life crisis and like to commiserate and enjoy a good laugh. I realize this limits my options when I search for my next book. But I stick to this criteria because with it, I've found some pretty great books that have helped me get through the days when adulting seems so hard. Does anyone else take this kind of approach when looking for a book?

Have you read the autobiographies by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?
I thought they were both very good!

I have read and own Amy Poehler's book. I loved it so much. I have such an appreciation for the Upright Citizen's Brigade and have asked my mom to write me a letter about the day I was born. I've read some of Bossypants but I didn't finish it. I've read Mindy Kaling's books and everyone compares Mindy to Tina. I don't remember enjoying Bossypants as much as Yes Please or Why Not Me. But I could give it another try.

I love to read humorous memoirs. Don't we all enjoy a good laugh? May I recommend Carol Burnett? Who doesn't love Carol Burnett?

I think I've seen these books at my local library. I've been hesitant to read books by authors outside of my target age group because I know there's so much more to find within it. I can't say I haven't wondered what else is out there though. Older authors, male authors, fiction, etc. I'll look for it the next time I go to the library.

They say it is for the farmers but cows can't tell time so that has always seemed silly to me

I don't know about cows, but where I live if we didn't change the clocks it would start getting light at 4:30 a.m. and start getting dark at 8:30 p.m. Not being much of a morning person I prefer daylight savings time. I love being able to go for a walk later in the evening.

I think they tried it one year in the 70's. They decided they didn't like it because it was still dark until after 8 a.m. so kids were getting on the school bus in the dark. These days some kids are getting on the bus at 6:30 a.m. so they are still getting on the bus in the dark.

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments Interesting Koren.

I have an idea for our group to have a quiz about memoirs and autobiography and then a reading challenge based on a quiz.

But I haven't made a quiz before so maybe some others on here can help.

No, we have city water but our own septic tank. My husband will do the dowsing thing to find the septic tank or if he wants to dig but doesn't want to wait for someone to come and mark the lines. So far he has never been wrong.

You can dowse for anything underground apparently. We even dowsed in the cemetery and it worked so we wondered if it was the metal from a casket and if it would work for just bones with no casket so we dowsed for our cats grave and it WORKED! I know you think this is all weird. So do I.

Actually, I do know where the bodies are buried in my yard!!!

Julie (julielill) | 1674 comments We buried a couple of hamsters in our backyard but something dug them up. We were later talking to our neighbors and they said they found one of the dead hamsters on their porch. We don't live too far from the forest preserves so we have a lot of wild life in our neighborhood including foxes, coyotes, deer, raccoons. So no more burying pets in the backyard.

I have to google cabbage tree. I've never heard of it. The last time we buried a cat my husband put a big rock on the top.

Julie (julielill) | 1674 comments I also had to google cabbage trees- pretty tree! When I was a kid, my father brought my other dead hamster to the high school where he worked and threw it into the incinerator. Unfortunately we don't have access to any incinerators at present.

Yes. I read it quite a while ago and don't remember a lot about it. I also wonder why they are coming out with a movie so many years later.

I wonder if they waited till the parents passed on (if they did) because of liability before filming in it.

Fishface | 2014 comments I noticed when I went to see DETROIT on Sunday that they are remaking BLADE RUNNER and DEATH WISH. There was a third trailer for a movie called THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US that looks like a thinly-disguised remake of HEY, I'M ALIVE! -- a movie nobody but me still remembers.

I don't even remember my user name and password. The book is The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism & Asperger's.

An interesting side note, I had just spent the day with my best friend who is the reason I know who Temple Grandin is.

Have you seen the Temple Grandin movie? It's amazing and gives you a perspective on how the autistic mind is different. I loved the part where she comes up to the cattle gate and immediately her mind sees how it works and how she can make it better. My son does the same thing.
