It is quite notable that Bowie listed Passing in his top 100 and not Quicksand nor Quicksand and Passing together. Any idea why?
Well I guess he did not want to choose both as they are supposed to be thematically and culturally so close. And he already took one's title, so why not chose the other one as a favorite?:) By the way, Passing has the line "something in the air" in it. OK I guess it's not the only book with this idiom but when reading Bowie's top 10 it's always easier to notice these lines and believe that they are referenced by Bowie.
Interesting analysis about the question of identity, theme both present in Passing and Bowie's work and persona.
