What do you think of the characters so far? Anything stand out to you?

I'm definitely enjoying Marie-Laure's chapters more than Werner's so far. I still love the relationship between Marie and her father. It breaks my heart that he was captured.

I'm wondering about the diamond and how that will play into the story. Those bits seem out of place at this point but I'm sure the importance of it will become clear as we go on.

Werner seems too naive for 15. Incredibly smart but emotionally stunted. Maybe that's from being an orphan? I don't know.

I also wonder if the big radio in the attic will come into the picture again. It must, right?

I can't wait till some of these stories begin to intersect. What do you guys think at this point?
