I've been choosing a word of the year for a few years now - this year, I choose EXPANSIVE - to invite in more of what I created in 2016, but to go bigger in its intention and abundance. To expand on my intention to create more Peace, more Presence and more Purpose in the community I've created. To inspire you to expand and / or re-create your life - inspired by your inner wisdom. Because we are co-creators of our own lives! So let's transform our 2017!

If you do this exercise each year, or would like to start it this year, go ahead and claim your word of the year...

WHAT'S YOUR WORD OF THE YEAR 2017?

Julie | 53 comments At work- our word of the year is opportunity and when I hear that it seeps into my life too. I like that: "opportunity". However, as strange as it sounds, I don't know much about numerology and I don't follow it but I heard that last year (2016) was a 9 year, a year of endings and this year, 2017, is a 1 year, a year of beginnings...and I do feel that a lot of things are closing up for me and I am starting fresh with major things in my life - so, to make this longer than necessary, lol, I would say "beginnings". This is a year of new beginnings for me, a long time in the making. Great question.

Ian-Anthony Finnimore | 53 comments I think expansive is great Saiisha!

Beginnings is also great Julie - a nice warm word I think.

For me it will be LENITY.

At a point last year I hastily fired out a little philosophy whilst juggling a newborn. As he has grown I have managed to revise it to a point where I am satisfied with the content.

I hope that I can contribute toward brushing away the charlatans that hog the limelight & create false hope within this medium just as old guard politics, agendas took a hit in 2016. We all have a valid voice & all concerns are valid it isn't either/ or. Everything evolves & changes, we see what works & what does not.

If there were a universal spiritual salute - my arm would be raised :-)

Barbara | 127 comments I like all of your "words" and can relate to the thoughts you express. I like to begin the New Year with thoughts of change I want to see in my life - not material change - but growth and understanding in my perceptions friends, work, family, nature, etc. So my word for the year is EVOLVE, slow and steady growth in expanding what I understand.

Thanks everyone - it's been fun reading everyone's words of the year - because they become your intentions for the year!

Opportunity
Audacity
Lenity
Abundance
Expand
Evolve

Words have power, and each of these seem to carry with them the power of your intentions

May this be a transformative 2017 for you!!

Vikash | 9 comments My word for the year 2017 is "compassion".
I think it's the single most virtue needed to bring a transformation in our lives.
Before attempting a task or talking to someone we need to ask ourselves that how can we do the same with compassion?
To be compassionate to others is a choice but if we become compulsory compassionate to ourselves then wonders will happen.
Let's live compassionately

Compassion - that's a beautiful word Kumar - from the Latin roots, "to suffer with..." - if we can all have that kind of empathy for our fellow beings, the world becomes a peaceful place to live :)

Thanks for adding to the conversation, and Welcome!
