I just thought what if its the blackthorns uncle? He moved from the London institute where the herondales ran it. Because will inherited it from Charlotte and he kept it in the family.
Maybe, or there is some Herondale out there and he are missing his or hers amazing ness

I have this really weird thing going on in my head and I really think that herondale is going to be James, I know it's probably really unlikely but I keep thinking James is immortal. I know it's probably not though

And it could be. Tessa is immortal because she has demon blood so it could be the same for James since his mum is a warlock

It can't be James. I read somewhere from Magnus's POV (a deleted excerpt from CoB) when he thought about his life back in London. He kept a photograph of Charlotte and Henry and Will and Jem and Tessa and Jessamine, and he took it out and reminisced and stuff, and he thought something like "And then there were the Herondale's. James and Lucie Herondale were little devils." He said were, so either James is dead-dead, or he is in fact alive and stalking the night as a vampire or something.Or ...
Tessa could have had a fling after losing Will and had a baby with someone else ...
Or there is another Herondale out in the world and we have no idea because they are from another series she hasn't written yet

Okay, but doesn't she have something in her that gives her her ability? James Herondale has the ability to turn into a shadow, so I was just thinking maybe a unique power has been passed down to his children.
Her father was an greater eidolon demon, meaning he could shape shift, and since she's part angel, gave her the ability to have the voice and memories

It's the inheritance of demon blood, it's affected him and given him powers. Just like with Tessa the 'angels' won the battle in her blood but it gave her powers, just like with James and I assume Lucie

Jace never got any demon blood, only Sebastian did. Jace has more angel blood in him which increases his natural Shadowhunter abilities

Yeah, I don't particularly think Jace inherited any special abilities from the demon blood because he was an experiment of Valentine's. I would have assumed the extra angel blood in him wiped that away.
I think the affect of the demon blood wore off as it moved through the family tree
