Read either 2015 or 2016. Hardcover. In the new(er) fiction books at library. Suspense. I remember it had a simple title

Plot bits I can remember:
-Man hired to steal gem(s) or precious cargo
-Trained to be a thief and to change identities seamlessly
-Trainer/lover was a woman he meets up with to work the current heist
-Climax of the book happens in China area, in a large city and near shoreline area. Lots of hotels and woman has a driver/chauffeur.
-Boat chase; boat gets sunk and loot hidden for later retrieval.
