HI Lauri and Nanci nice to *see * you again!

I just finished two ARC's one a steamy romance by Tamara Lush called Tell Me a Fantasy by Tamara Lush and the other a YA/ Dystopian titled Slumber (Beauty Never Dies Chronicles, #1) by J.L. Weil by J. L. Weil. Definitely a great kick-off to January 2017 with these two books.

Cathy Galloway Hi Everyone! I am new to this site and to UNO but I have participated in other group challenges, many in NBRC. In fact, I found out about this from my WOBBLE teammates.

Currently I am finishing up the NBRC decade challenge with a few books from 2007 but am looking forward to several books coming out this year-
Feversong (Fever, #9) by Karen Marie Moning A Perilous Undertaking (Veronica Speedwell, #2) by Deanna Raybourn Silver Silence (Psy-Changeling Trinity, #1; Psy-Changeling, #16) by Nalini Singh Where the Dead Lie (Sebastian St. Cyr #12) by C.S. Harris Dawn Study (Soulfinders, #3) by Maria V. Snyder The Chosen (Black Dagger Brotherhood #15) by J.R. Ward Devil in Spring (The Ravenels, #3) by Lisa Kleypas All You Need (Need You, #3) by Lorelei James The Turn (The Hollows #0.1) by Kim Harrison

As you can see, a mix of historical, fantasy, mystery, and romance.

message 57: by San (new)

San (btsentence) | 119 comments Hi everyone!
My name is Sandra but you can call me Ginger or San :)

I haven't participated in any Team Challenge yet. Actually I joined Goodreads only last summer because I would love to talk with people about books and unfortunately my friends don't like to read :(

Sadly, I was in reading slump for long time and missed many great books and now I am trying to catch up.
My favorites are young adult, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, contemporary and romance.
Currently I am reading Crown of Midnight and I can't believe that I didn't read this series earlier!

I don't really know what is coming out this year yet. I only heard about a few books form booktubers I like to watch and I will definitively read
History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera Carve the Mark (Carve the Mark, #1) by Veronica Roth Caraval (Caraval, #1) by Stephanie Garber
So if you know any books worth reading, I would be grateful for some recommendations. ;-)

Laura I pre-ordered the second book. I loved the cover and just couldn't stop myself. It was too pretty. I forgot I ordered it so I would have been surprised when it popped up in my kindle. I guess I can say I'm looking forward to that book coming out :-)

Silje (sikna) | 908 comments Hi everyone. So fun to see many familiar faces=) I'm Silje from Norway, this will be my third UNO round I think. UNO is what got me hooked on team challenges=)

I'm looking forward to when A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas is coming, I will read the whole series again then. Other than that I'm not sure what books are published this year, but I have two shelves with unread books at home, so plenty to choose from there:P

message 62: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Ooooh I so cannot wait for that one either!! The ending of A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas had me squealing for days after!

Also, helloooooooo :-D

My favorite romance last year was Forbidden (Old West #1) by Beverly Jenkins - perfect for anyone that likes historicals! And the second book of the series is coming out this month, so it's good timing. ;)

That's the best way to travel. Just think of how much time you'll save on all the delays and check-ins and whatnots. Time you can read :)

Not the first in a series, but I think my absolute favourite book of 2016 was A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas .

Another very pleasant surprise I found myself reading almost completely in one sitting, something I usually cannot do with books around the 400 page mark, was Kiss of Steel (London Steampunk, #1) by Bec McMaster .

For me it was Uprooted by Naomi Novik Uprooted by Naomi Novik. It had several twists that kept it from being your typical fantasy novel and I really liked the underlying message. It is a stand alone but I hope she chooses to write more.

message 71: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments My favorite book was Glory over Everything Beyond The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom . It is a sequel to The Kitchen House. While I recommend you read the first book (I gave it 5 stars too), it's not necessary. The genre is historical fiction. The characters are so real, they seem to jump out of the pages and I find myself thinking about them for months afterwards.

Awesome! The author lives about an hour away from me. She is wonderful and so friendly! She FaceTimed with my RL book group after we read her first book. She even invited me to join her at one of her writing groups. I would love her books regardless, but knowing she's such a genuine person makes them extra special.

I'm completely new to UNO and just these types of team challenges in general, but I'm hoping that this year will be a good introduction! *I see my fellow newbies out there as well. Reaching out to y'all. ;-)

I am a complete sucker for YA magical realism (whaaaaa) books, or probably any good YA books in general, preferably with whimsical writing. Totally nothing against middle-school or adult fiction, though, so if you hand me a good one I'll be sure to read it!

I'm totally looking forward to reading these books:
Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popović A Psalm for Lost Girls by Katie Bayerl The Last of August (Charlotte Holmes #2) by Brittany Cavallaro Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Ash and Quill (The Great Library #3) by Rachel Caine Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore

Kate S Hi. I am Kate. I have participated in several team challenges in another GoodReads group, but this is my first challenge with the Perks group. I am looking forward to this game, it looks like fun.

I read a lot of literary fiction and classics, but can frequently be found with a thriller next to my bed or on my Kindle.

At the moment, the book I am most looking forward to in 2017 is not on GoodReads yet, but it's called American Berzerk by Bill Morris.

Thank you, Alison for sharing the link to this challenge!
