I think I am going to put Vicious (Vicious, #1) by V.E. Schwab by V.E. Schwab under this one. The story starts in the present in a graveyard. We are listening in on a conversation between Victor and Sydney and, to fill us in on what led to the current events, we then flashback ten years to when Victor was attending Lockland University. The story continues to flip back and forth until the night after and then we switch over to Eli's perspective for a while.

This isn't your typical superhero book- if you've read reviews claiming it was a superhero book- so take that with a grain of salt. It is well-written, has a fantastic array of characters, and it's less "good v. evil' and more 'shades of people,' or 'shades of bad people.' I really liked this one.

UPDATE: I had a better title to put here so I moved Vicious to 'book by an author who uses a pseudonym." In it's place, I want to put One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus by Karen M. McManus . It's more like 4 stories into one murder story.

I've been describing this book as The Breakfast Club except one of them dies in detention. It's also got some Pretty in Pink homages, but is very much a modern story. I've got a full review over on my page, but I will say it's a whirlwind story that I enjoyed and finished in 2-3 days.

Egg & Spoon is a whimsical fantasy that combines Twain's classic The Prince and the Pauper with Russian fairy tales. In addition meeting Maguire's original characters, we interact with many figures of folklore and learn their stories.

The book had some pacing problems, but was an overall fun read with a great message.

Ooooo! Nice! They do seem to pair well, I sometimes stay away from reading similar books/audiobooks as the characters and settings sometimes get confusing with me (especially for fantasy! lol)

I'm glad you like it, I'm liking it too!
