Northern Lights by Nora Roberts
Read: 4/3/17
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
How it fits: Tagged 8 times as "5 stars"
The whole concept of a Lunacy, Alaska is intriguing. If you've avoided Nora Roberts before because you don't care for romance novels, don't miss out on this one. There's plenty of mystery, interesting characters and plot twists. And yes, some very hot sex scenes, too...but then, this is Nora Roberts. In this case, the sex scenes enhance the story line, not the other way around.

Thank you Sandra. :) It's from the list of 60 most beautiful libraries in the world.

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
Read: 4/13/17
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
How it fits: Tagged 3 times
Ransom Riggs has done it again. Hollow City was a welcoming sense of familiarity as we revisit our favorites peculiars. Their adventures pick up right were we left off. With elements of fantasy and rich story telling, I recommend this series to just about anyone who has asked. You must read the first novel, Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children to fully appreciate and understand this addition. As true to the original story, Riggs accompanies his grand plot with beautiful photos throughout. A truly enjoyable and memorable read for all.

Nope. We got it on Wednesday night. Today is Thursday. (Or else I got my days messed up.) Lol

Kill Me If You Can by James Patterson shelved 12 times as assassin
For available from the library I will be reading:
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

Book: Agent of Change
Author: Sharon Lee & Steve Miller
Read: 4/21/17
Pages: 308
Rating: 4 stars
How it fits: #1696 on the list
Review: Val Con completed an assassination assignment for his country and became a hunted man. After removing his disguise and heading for his apartment he comes across a woman defending herself from a gang of five. He helps eliminate the five and takes her with him. It seems her last job as a bodyguard was for an unscrupulous man who set his staff up to defend him from the mob and then abandoned the scene. Now the mob was out to eliminate her. Miri is also trying to retrieve her possessions from “friends” before disappearing from the planet. Both are accosted again by their enemies and join forces. A group of turtle aliens called the Clutch are friends of Val Con and play a large part in the action. A very good action adventure in an interesting space world.

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Read: 4/21/17
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
How it fits: shelved as assassins 317 times
I really enjoyed this book. LaFevers did a decent job with character development but excelled at setting and plot. I felt like I was dropped into Brittany during the 1400's. It was a great work of Historical Fiction with just a little bit of fantasy and romance thrown in for good measure.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling
Read: 4/21/17
Rating: 5 stars
How it fits: shelved 695 times as five stars
Review: No matter how many times I read this book or series I love it even more. The Chamber of Secrets continues with Harry Potter feeling lonely. He hasn't received any letters from his friends at Hogwarts.
Things happen that prevent Harry being able to make it to Hogwarts in a timely manner. He is warned by Dobby that he cannot return to Hogwarts. Harry and Ron make an entrance and are almost expelled from Hogwarts.
This is when we meet Gilderoy Lockheart. He is charming but not all the professors like him.

The Boy in the Suitcase - Lena Kaaberbol
Read: 4/23/17
Pages: 321
Rating: 4 stars
How it Fits: #923 on the list
Review: Nina Borg gets a frantic call from an old friend, Karin, telling her to collect a suitcase from a locker at a train station and not to open it until she is someplace private; that Nina will know what to do. When the suitcase is opened she finds a small boy, alive but unconscious. Nina can’t communicate with the boy due to language and so begins to try to find out who he is and where he belongs. The story is told from multiple viewpoints: the kidnapper, his employer, Nina, Nina’s husband, and the boy’s mother. This was an intense crime fiction made more so by Nina’s personal and psychological problems. Nina works with at risk immigrants under often bleak circumstances, having to mentally separate herself from situations in order to handle them. Very well written.

Linda: You are our hardest working member and are up to date with all reviews. Great work! You only need to let me know about your choice for kickass-heroine shelf.
Jennifer: One review short (for available-at-library). You are doing great too.
Monica: 3 reviews behind (series-finished, assassins, available-at-library). And also you need to pick a book for kickass-heroine shelf.
Your Captain aka. Dragana aka. Me: Same as Monica. 3 reviews behind. And I still need to pick a book for new shelf.
I think if Monica or me go one more review behind, we shall be kicked from the team. I saw something like that in the rules. But we have time until next shelf (ie Wednesday) so I hope we will both manage to post one review until then.
Have a nice day. And happy reading. :)

I am planning to post a review this weekend hopefully 2. I will look at the new shelf sometime today. If I have time while at work I will let you know the book that I do decide on. All my books are now organized and I have access to all of them and should be able to find the books so that I can read them.

I am about a 4th of the way in on "Uprooted" and like it so far. My only complaint is the names (people and places names) are weired and hard to figure out how to pronounce. Just one of those strange pet peeves I have :)

I'm from Serbia, so I didn't have problem with names and terms. They have Russian origin and Russian and Serbian language are similar.
On the other hand, I have problem with German, Swedish etc. Since I don't have much contact with those languages and I never know how to pronounce them. Sadly that makes me avoid books by authors from those countries.

Thanks for the info Sandra.
I actually don't have problem with reading. More with writing reviews. I was not in the mood lately or didn't have the time... :/

I do the big rehash (usually only for Bingo) but that's so I remember the book. LOL

I usually dont rehash the plot just write how book made me feel and some impressions to remember for later. But lately I don't have an inspiration for writting. All I have is either Meh or It was OK.

Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
Read: 4/26/17
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
How it fits: Shelved 1 time as Available at Library
I really enjoyed this story. A beautiful start to this new series by Abbi Glines. No one does YA/NA quite like her. I fell in love with these characters quickly. West and Maggie are both dealing with deeply emotional issues. I really liked how they came to be friends and the support they provided each other. There were so many heartbreaking moments for these two, but there was a lot of hope there too.
