I've heard great things about the book and the movie. Hope you enjoy! :)"

Thanks Kait :) Have fun reading your pick too! It's Ilona Andrews though so I think its a given ;)

Kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 206 comments Is anyone at least close enough to forming BINGO? :D

message 304: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25914 comments No Kathleen, there are at least 11 squares required for Bingo. I think 1 team need 4 more squares, but most need more than that.

Yay1 Great choice:) I can't wait to see what you think!

Kai wrote:"The first book probably wont seem like anything special. I was pretty confused because the series is so well loved and even had a TV show. It's not terrible, but the first book is very average. Definitely glad I kept reading because Summer Knight was awesome! :D"

Oh, thanks for the warning! I'm going to bump it up my reading plan!

I will be reading Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead for this shelf. Shelved by 1 person. I have to read this for another challenge. So glad I can fit it into this.

Kaity | 743 comments One Fell Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles, #3) by Ilona Andrews
Book - One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews
Shelf - Snarky Heroine
How it Fits - shelved by 1 person as snarky heroine
Pages - 259 pages
Date Read - March 11
Rating - 5 stars
Review - ...I am speechless. Totally blown away. The Ilona Andrews team repeatedly does this to me but every time is like the first. I feel like grabbing the first person I see and squeeing and gushing and UGH SO GOOD.
Loved the new characters and still madly in love with the old. I just saw Logan a few days ago and couldn't help but picture Helen similarly.
I am beyond excited for the next book! That last page!!

Enjoy, Laura! I've only read the first book in the series. I think it was a little too hyped up for me and now I'm struggling to pick up the second book. I enjoyed the story a lot but don't care about any of the characters yet.

Its hard to get into the book, if you don't care about any of the characters. I have bit hard time into getting the story at the moment. Hopefully it passes fast :D

I'm switching my Futuristic book to Rarely Pure and Never Simple (Variant Configurations #1) by Angel Martinez . Shelved by 6 people.

Not that there's anything wrong with No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished (Heartstrikers, #3) by Rachel Aaron . I love this series a lot! Yay for nice dragons! It just takes me more time to read. I just have to read it slowly to savor it.

How has your weekend been, y'all?

Mine was super busy. My sister in law is pregnant with her first baby. My father and I (my mom passed away 3 months ago) are leaving for the US next month. We will stay with them till August end. The baby is due by August first week. I have absolutely no idea about childbirth! I want to help them in any way possible, but I sure know nothing about it! Both excited and scared. I am going to become an aunt soon. Yikes!

:D How exciting for your sister IL (and you!!)! Safe and hopefully stress free travels to you and your dad. Aww I'm sorry to hear about your mom!

message 320: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 743 comments Taking a note out of Preethi's book, I will be reading An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir instead for my Futuristic shelf book. Shelved by 3 people as futuristic, 446 pages.
It works for another team challenge whereas Their Fractured Light doesn't (sorry book, but I've gotta multitask!)

Book - An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Shelf - Futuristic
How it Fits - shelved by 3 person as futuristic
Pages - 446 pages
Date Read - March 17
Rating - 5 stars
Review - This book was intense and brutal and... absurdly enjoyable. I can't believe how much I enjoyed Laia and Elias' story when I was so furiously mad about the injustices the characters suffered. I wish I'd waited until the series was complete because I need to know what happens to everyone and know that the villains get what's coming to them.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer
Book: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Finished: 18.03.17
Rating: *****
Review: I loved it! Its totally knew spin to Cinderella story. Its interesting and has futuristic elements to it, but still has some parts from the classic story. I really enjoyed reading it and I think the author did a great job recreating the story and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. My faith in YA books is restored :D

I wouldn't have made it if I hadn't gotten a little chromebook. I felt so ridiculous spending the money for it...until the day I shipped my laptop out. Such a sanity saver! I'm definitely not one of those people who can do everything on their phone.

Glad to see your internet is back, hope you had a paperback or something to help you make it through :P

I haven't read any of this series but I'm always drawn to how different the artwork is. I thought for the longest time it was YA because there's not much else like it in adult paranormal.

Review - This was a reread for me. Both times I've wanted to like it more than I have since so many YA lovers adore the series. I've only read the first book before, hopefully this time I will continue with the series!
I think I prefer the film/tv adaptations of this book (eep!). I like that the characters are older in those adaptations and that they don't include the author's odd fixation on 'different' ways to dress. Sure, Magnus has glittery eyeliner in the show but it's SOO much more tasteful than he's described.
