17,000 in 2017 Group Challenge
This year we will be keeping track of the link to your Home Page challenge. However, if your bookshelf is private or you are not friends with one of the Mods, we can NOT click on it to "refresh" and update your goal. You will have to do so yourself.If you have joined the 17,000 in 2017 Book Count Challenge, we need you to “refresh” your challenge page.
Simply click on your current percent, as show by the red arrow below.
This will take you to your “view books” – or display screen and cause your book total to update.
If you go back to the previous screen and “refresh” the screen, you’ll see you percent has updated (if you’ve added any books since the last time you checked).

I check your shelf and it's been added to group challenge and you've already added one book. You know that you can add any book you've finished in 2017 to the shelf, right?

Everyone, GoodReads is having a bit of difficulty updating this challenge. We did a "Sunday Update" but the numbers haven't refreshed, so we are holding off ... waiting to see if they correct it.

We are on day 50 out of 365 days this year.
Days into Challenge divided by Total Days of the Challenge = “on target percent”50 / 365 = 13.69 “on target percent.”We've read 1,678 books so far. So...1,678 / 17,000 = 09.87%
Hmmm. My total (36) is correct, but only 19 of my bookcovers show. I wonder what is up with that. I have them on my designated shelf and I have start & finish dates. Anyone else have this issue?
I'm wondering if it is somehow connected to the "rereading" capibility. The date they initiated it. Only a few of my books are "rereads."

Hmmm... very, very weird.
A bug was reported last week about this and we're waiting for GR to fix. It does appear to be related to the reread update. Stay tuned.
Ah. Well, if it is in connection with this challenge feature, then I won't hold my breath. We've been asking for bug fixes on this for years. **sigh**
No, this is a new bug. When they installed the new reread feature, it screwed up several things so it doesn't appear to be an easy fix.

We are on day 57 out of 365 days this year.
Days into Challenge divided by Total Days of the Challenge = “on target percent”57 / 365 = 15.61 “on target percent.”We've read 1,678 books so far. So...1,928 / 17,000 = 11.34%
I haven't joined in on this one yet. I was disappointed on my stats for last year...I pledged to read 200 books, read 325 but the challenge said I only read 96 :( not sure what happened there. So I didn't join this year lol

I was at 401/400 at the end of 2016, but when re-reads rolled out, it knocked me back to 100/400. It's a problem on GR's end and very annoying to me!
Goal? Our group goal is 17,000 books in the year 2017. Thus, the name: When? Start Date: 00:01 on January 1, 2017 until December 31, 2017.
Where?: Join the Challenge that appears on our home page, or it can be found at this link .
What?: Any genre! And length!
How?: For additional help in understanding how to join, check out instuctions under “GoodReads How To...” “Join a Featured Group Challenge.” This requires adding a specific bookshelf to your bookshelves. Remember, if your bookshelf has more than one word, you must add a HYPHEN in between.
