I got seven in total. Four from my hubby and three from my mum.
,
,
and
from hubby. None were on my wish list but I think he chose pretty well. The only one I'm not sure about is the Annie Groves one as it's not the sort of thing I'd usually choose but I do love a Christmas themed story!
My mum went for
,
and a mystery/puzzle book whose name escapes me at the moment and I don't want to move from under my blanket to find out! All good choices as they all relate to things I'm interested in - cooking, the Tudor era and puzzles.
A pretty good haul I think :)

Both of my kids know that books are the way to their mom's heart, and hubby does as well. My brother and Daughter's boyfriend gave me amazon gift cards, which (of course!) went for more books, so I ended up with quite a haul. Can you tell that my favorite genre is mystery? :DI use our library extensively, but I keep a shelf on GR for books I want to read that the library system doesn't have, and that's where all of these came from. Now I just have to find room for them somewhere!

Wow, and I thought I did well with seven!
Penni, maybe you should write a letter to Santa next year and leave it somewhere prominent! I hope you got some good non-book gifts though? :)

I skipped Xmas this year so I didn't get any new books. But I had a very relaxing week and managed to read quite a bit.

I used to read a series by William W Johnson YEARS ago. I had to order the books from TOR because it was the olden days. It was about the end of the US, war and all that. It was very good. I need to check him out again.

Caroline wrote: "Wow, and I thought I did well with seven!"Well, in my case, everyone knows that I only keep a very few of the books I read, so when I buy books, I buy used copies. I'm just going to give them away (usually to the Friends of the Library group) when I finish reading them, so why buy new? Once they all accepted that I really *wanted used books, they realized that it stretches their gift-buying budget. They can buy several used books for the cost of a new one :)

Amazon had them on sell as Kindle books ,some was only $0.99 and some was $3.99 ,when I saw that I had to get them, becouse along while back I had a some of his books in paperback ,like the one called Bats which is my all time favorite of his .
Actually, I don't usually ask for books as gifts. To me, half the fun of getting books is browsing and choosing. So I'd rather they get me something else and leave the book-buying to me.

Like book vouchers maybe? :)

I rarely got books for Xmas because my friends and family always picked the wrong books; usually ones that I already owned. It's really hard to pretend to be excited to receive a book when I already own it and have already read it.
That is the danger of buying books for someone who reads as much as we do! I think hubby checks my GR shelves now before buying.
