It's easy to become a chameleon when you can change the way you look, and Mei is known for re-inventing herself. Mei finds it fun and exciting to change her appearance if for no other reason than staving off boredom. She comes of as quite an introvert, not because she's shy but because she's learnt that letting people too close always ends up hurting you. But those who are close to her know her for only one reason. Mei is never boring. In fact, she is witty and charming as well as artistic. One outstanding characteristic of hers is to talk to a large diverse group of people that come from all walks of life. To her, everyone has something to offer the world; the more interesting the person, the more interested she is in getting to know him or her. Mei is enthusiastic and loves living life to its fullest. As you might have guessed, one of the most outstanding characteristic of hers is her social skill. Remember the chameleon traits? This allows her to adapt to any social setting blend in to the point you may forget she's even there. Mei is a very serious-minded worker, yet can be spontaneous and quick to react when offered the opportunity to have an adventure (by adventure she means trip to the book or gaming store) Fun is addictive to her (by fun she means role playing, reading or gaming), just as becoming a workaholic can become a pitfall. Other contradictions can send mixed signals to anyone attempting to map out her personality because as soon as you think you have this elusive mystical creature figured out, she'll do a 180 degree turn on you and leave you scratching your head.

Maths. What a bore. Mei sat there, tapping her pencil on her paper whilst listening to the teacher ramble on about quadratic equations and whatnot. Wasn't that 10th grade math? She began to doodle on her maths book. Like she usually did. Sitting to the back of the class where she would be least noticed by the teacher, listening to his lesson while drawing Overwatch characters in her maths book and occasionally looking up so it seemed as if she was taking notes. Though not that anyone cared. She was never payed any attention.

(( Like I said, do as little or as much as you feel necessary ^-^ ))
All the students started whispering, but above all were the coos of the girls who were intrigued by the new bad boy. Mei looked up from her sketching and made direct eye contact with the new boy. Hie eyes were the fist thing that got her attention. She realized he was looking back at her and, unlike everyone else who kept staring, she looked back to her page and her heart was racing for some apparent reason.

Hie eyes were the fist thing that got her attention. She realized he was looking back at her and, unlike everyone else who kept staring, she looked back to her page and her heart was racing for some apparent reason.

Mei looked at the boy as he slowly went to the back of the classroom and then to the clock on the wall. 1 minute till the lunch bell. She quietly packed her stuff before loosing herself in her sketching. Little did she know that when she had become so engrossed, the bell had rung and almost everyone had left. She pushed her round black frames up her nose and packed slowly. It wasn't like she had any friends she was keeping waiting.

Mei swung her bag over shoulder and began to exit the room when the teacher saw her "Mei" he called cheerfully and she froze midstep and slowly turned around with a smile "Is their something you wanted from me sir?" she replied quietly looking from him to the new kid and quickly averting her eyes.

The maths teacher gave her a small smile before looking at her from over the top oh his glasses and raising an eyebrow "Would you care to show me the noted you were taking in class again? You seemed quite engrossed in the task". Mei felt color rise to her cheeks and she looked up at him with a small smile "Sorry sir, it won't happen again" she replied as it wasn't the first time he'd caught her sketching in class. The teacher nodded and slapped her shoulder softly "That's a good girl". Mei flinched from his touch and her glasses went a bit wonky and she quickly fixed them and gave the boy a small smile before hurrying out the room, but not before a page from her book covered in sketches slipped to the floor near the new kid's shoe.

Mei was halfway down the hall when she noticed it was raining outside and groaned. She had to walk home and her dad couldn't pick her up. Sighing, she let the though go. She'd figure out a way home. Tugging on her skirt, she went closer to the window and smelt the rain and decided to stand there a while. Pulling up the sleeve of her sweater, she put her hand out and felt the rain on her fingertips and smiled.

Mei looked out into the courtyard and saw someone in the rain. She lent out a bit to get a better look and saw it was the new boy and behind him, she saw the girls peeking to see him and rolled her eyes. They didn't know what sort of guy he was yet they were head over heels for him. She sat on the bench and ate her sandwich, looking out at the boy.

Mei sighed and scrunched up her paper bag. The guy was gonna catch a cold. The crazy fan girls didn't mind seeing him wet though. She lent out the window and aimed her rubbish at a bin in the courtyard and got it in with ease. tying her long hair up in a bun, she straightened her collar and then proceeded to head toward her next class.
((Do you want to timeskip to after school?))

(Sure. Could you start please?)
( Sure thing! )
Mei stood at the school exit undercover as it continued to pour. She pouted as the rain didn't cease to stop and pondered. Her parents were both at work, her brother caught a bus home and she had no umbrella. It was either run and get soaked or wait it out. She sat on the stairs deep in thought.

Mei looked up from her daze and looked from the boy to the paper in his hand and back again "Oh, um, thank you" she replied with a small smile and then blushed when she saw what was on the page "Oh no, you saw these?" she asked out aloud and tucked it in her pocket "Well I guess you know me now" she sighed and looked out at the rain "Class nerd, the invisible girl" she said a bit sadly but then looked up at him with a cute lopsided smile "Mei Henderson, nice to meet you. You just transferred right?"

She noticed his reluctance to talk and her smile faded "You okay?" she asked quietly, trying to see his face in his hood.

Mei didn't question further. She understood that he wasn't alright but she lied like that all the time as well. She stood up and looked at the downpour which was lightening up now. But she didn't want to go home. To her parents' constant bickering.

Mei managed to catch a ride with her aunt and was dripping wet when she got to her door even when she'd spent only three seconds in the pour. She heard people next door and assumed it was the new neighbours.

As soon as Mei opened the door she was, quite literally, tackled to the ground by her little brother who kept squealing her name over and over again and she laughed and tickled him until all you could hear was their laughter. Because of their parent's constant fighting and her father's abuse it was just the two of them. She picked him up from off her and took off her glasses as she watched him run inside with a giddy smile. She looked like a completely different person without them. She sat down and removed her boots.

Inside, she changed into an oversized t shirt and put her hair up in a messy bun and she opened the curtains in their living room which gave them a clear view of the neighbor's drive way and her jaw dropped open as she saw her new neighbor. Sloane?! Of all people. She was so surprised she didn't notice her brother's pleas and only responded when a Playstation controller was thrown at her head "C'mon play a game with me!" her brother laughed.

Mei played Call of Duty with her brother and yelled triumphantly when she won for the third time and was about to again when their father returned and now all that was heard in their house were fustrated screams and arguing.

Mei stormed out the house and sat on the wet stairs, her hair coming loose and wetting her face. She didn't care that all she wore was a huge shirt and everyone could see most of her smooth tan legs. She was to distracted by the pain in her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks and she pressed her hand to her stinging cheekk where her father had struck her. Correction. Where her step father had struck her. This was what happened if she and her brother didn't hide in their rooms when their mother wasn't home. She sat there, made sure her little brother wasn't looking, and then sobbed her heart out.

She didn't see him approach. Heck, she couldn't even hear him over the ringing in her left ear. She pushed her wet hair away from her face which now showed the left side of her face that was red and forming a bruise. She continued to cry, but not as much anymore. She was running out of tears.

Mei looked up, teary eyed to see Sloane and immediately got up, covering her left cheek so he wouldn't see the welt and wiped her tears. Her t shirt was completely soaked and now clung her surprisingly curvy figure closely. She hesitated as to whether she should follow him, a guy she'd only met but wanted to know. But anything to escape her father would suffice. She looked back at her front door before following barefoot through the rain. She looked him over and the tattoo on his collarbone caught her eye. She then looked at his eyes and tried smiling but winced from the pain.
