Patrick Witz (writerwitz) | 21 comments When our group started writing our book, we did not consider the possible long-term consequences of publishing a multi-genre anthology... how does one market a multi-genre book in a specific-genre retail/library world? With 15 stories in 13 diverse genres, the possibilities of upsetting someone, groups, etc. by targeting specific sub-genres is very possible. We've ended up only being listed in Short Stories, Short Fiction, Fiction, General Fiction, Anthologies... which are all very broad genre top-level descriptions. However, on the positive side, the book offers something for everyone and introduces various genres to readers that they may not have considered, often to find they actually enjoyed the genre and added it to their list of reads! (Per our beta-reader group findings) Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas on marketing multi-genre books?
