This book was about a couple who were separated in WWII and then reunited after the war. They had had a son and hadn't seen each other in years and things were rocky moving forward. It told the story of what happened to them in flashbacks, interspersed with the present. I don't want to give too much away, but the son was a pivotal part. I want to say maybe they weren't British even though they lived in England?

The cover looked like the cover of Suite Francaise - a couple standing, embracing maybe.

I read it about five years ago. Probably published in the last 15 years.

I think maybe the title had a number in it? But I forget! (Obviously)
