Justin (justinbienvenue) Are you one of those people or know a person who always complains and doesn't know why their books aren't selling? Or you don't know where to get valuable content and helpful promotion and marketing advice? Well my answer is this..you aren't looking or try hard enough.

Twitter chats are a great way to engage with other people who are in the same boat as you and you get advice and tips from people that have been where you are. There are tons of twitter chats and the topics vary although I'm talking about specific Twitter chats that are about book promotion and marketing. I take part in a few chats with my two favorite being #BookMarketingChat which happens every Wed 9 p.m EST and #TwitterSmarter 1 p.m EST. Now again there are tons out there but I'm just telling you the ones I take part in. There is a site that shows you all the chats, the times they chat and what they chat about which you can find here: http://tweetreports.com/twitter-chat-....

The site is also a good way to figure out what time you can schedule a chat in the event you plan on creating your own although I'd recommend you attend and become a frequent attendee of other chats before creating your own. The best thing about these chats is that you can get so much valuable information about the topic you seek. You can either sit back or tweet along, when I first attended #BookMarketingChat I just sat back and watched people talk but then as time passed and the topics related more with me I found I had a lot to say, share and ask. So when you attend a chat be sure to follow the rules and get to know the moderator. Also, RT, like and comment when you feel the need. This helps as you want to show the importance of what someone said and you may be able to use it later on. When you tweet something you may find others will do as you do and comment, RT or like it which means your fitting in and making a solid contribution to the chat. Finally be sure to use the # of the chat that your taking part in so that everyone else who is a part of the chat can see what your saying.

Overall Twitter chats are a great way to get valuable information, take part of something, gain followers, share what you know and be a part of a large audience of people who are just like you.
