The heroine somehow ends up as part of the winnings in a card game. Her father loses and she ends up going with a younger man who sneaks her on board his brothers space ship. The older brother finds out she is on board and he is the one who ends up being the hero in the story. I recall she was shy and/or skittish and there was something in the plot around her being the only woman on a ship of men and it wasn't safe for her. I read this in the last year or so. Also believe the cover is blue and it shows the heroine on the cover and she's blond.
