Nerdy and the Jedi Journal
She called for Michael and a moment later he came at the door. When he saw me he was like, "Cookie? Whatchu doin' here?" I took a step back and threw rainbow confetti in the air making his mom go: "AH!"
Me: CONGRATULATION MICHAEL!! You have been selected to play the Life Game!!! Hosted by me.....COOKIE!!His Mom: What is all this?!
Me: Go grab your schoolbooks and come over to your driveway
His Mom: What did you do to my-
Michael: Ma, hold up. Cookie, whats up? How you get here?
Me: Just LISTEN to me: get your stuff and a Sharpie marker for me
Me: And some lemons, water, sugar, and iceMichael: Uh.....................Okay?
His mom was suspicious as I trotted to the drive and Michael came back with his stuff, and she followed us out.
Michael: Whoa
I had the cutouts propped up with some rocks, and then a pitcher and two cups on a tray, and other stuff like scissors and a hammer :D
Me: Welcome to Life MichaelMichael: What are you-
Me: Hush. Now lets play...
I dragged him over and grabbed a textbook and took the Sharpie he brought and a sheet of blank paper.
Me: Now, Im here to help you study...but not with this *tosses textbook on lawn*
I got his basketball and wrote LIFE in big letters on the paper and stuck it on his basketball with double-sided tape I brought (I come prepared XD) I threw it to him and he caught it confused. "What are we "playing"?" Me: First round of the Life Game! Hold onto the ball, you'll need it later
I got the hammer and some bricks I found in his yard.
Michael: Cookie, its cold out here
Me: This will be quick, I swear.
I wrote: Michael's Worries on them
Me: First lesson to help you study: Smash it. Smash away your worries Mike. Why have them?
Michael dropped the ball and I gave him the hammer.
Michael: Cookie-
Me: Hit it as hard as you can
He hesitated but then whacked it with the hammer. He banged on the bricks so hard I thought he would damage his driveway. He broke them to DUST, I swear. Me: Now look at them. They were big strong bricks. Hard to get through to you. But now, they're as small as dust......NOTHING
He laughed and threw the hammer on the lawn. "That was....fun"Me: And there's more fun to come! You succesfully completed Round 1...ROUND 2!!!
I walked him over to the tray and picked up the bucket of lemons. He had set the other stuff I asked him for down over there too. I threw lemons at him. "OW!! COOKIE!! STOP THAT!"
Me: Pretend Im LIFE.
Michael: Oh my GOD-
I agree. Oh my God!
I threw all the lemons and he dodged as best he could. Me: Its the rule to EVERYTHING. "When Life Throws you Lemons...Make LEMONADE!!!"
I had him pick up the lemons and we made lemonade in his DRIVEWAY XD. Thank God the snow had long gone, but it was still pretty cold.
Me: Okay, ROUND 3
Michael: This is CRAZY
Me: You like it
Michael: *grins like a Chesire Cat*
Me: Last round..I tossed him the basketball and had him stand at the end of the driveway. "I would've done football, but there's not enough space-"
Michael: What now?
Me: These cutouts represent the things in the way of the LIFE, or in this case, your ball
Me: Get the ball through the Obstacles.....it wont be easy cause IM helping to block you
He dribbled a little and tried to get through and I stood in front of him, next to the SCHOOL cutout. I threw pages of his homework and other school crap like, "SCHOOL!!!! GO GO GO!!! GRADUATE MICHAEL!!! WHAT DO YOU WANNA DO!!! DECIDE!!!!" He stumbled first but went passed it and I made him stop at the FEAR cutout "You're scared of failing. You want to make your fam proud and my dad. But you're scared...scared to choose wrong..to let everyone down...and you're scared of snakes"
He scoffed and went passed again. He went through DOUBT, STRESS, and SADNESS before I stopped him. "Michael, you went through ALL that...are you worried now? Scared? Stressed? Annoyed?" Michael: I...I dont think-
Me: One last thing Michael...
I backed him up and moved the cutouts.
Me: Those Obstacles are gone no. Because you PUSHED through. YOU fought through all your problems and now they are gone. LIFE knocked you down, but you got up.....
I held up a paper sign that had ADVERSITY on it...."Rip it"
He grabbed the paper and shredded it into scraps.
Me: Good! Now then...Make your shot. Get your LIFE ball through the hoop. HAKUNA MATATA....

He smiled and dribbled then shot the ball. I made him do it OVER and OVER and he was laughing. I laughed too and I saw his mom was crying a little. Michael hugged me SOOO TIGHT I could barely breathe. "Thank you,Naimah" he said.Michael: So do I get a prize or what?
Me: Of course..
I jumped in his arms and put my legs around his waist
Me: Your Sexy Snickerdoodle
His eyes WIDENED and he leaned in for a kiss, but I pulled a bag out my pocket and shoved the contents of it in his mouth.
Michael: MMMHMFFMFM
Me: See? *holds up bag* SNICKERDOODLES!!! (I brought snickerdoodles for him)
Michael: *laughs and chews* Thats IT?!
Me: Well, you can help me put all this back in my suitcase and in your house...BUT! Its worth it right?
He laughed again and hugged me tight
Me: Aw...dont cry Lover Boy

His mom came over andshe was bawling..."Naimah...THANK YOU.Thank you so much!....." She hugged me and just cried, making me cry a little. "I dont know how can be so...so CREATIVE with it all and...just thank you"
So, basically, I made Lover Boy really happy today and he said so in his email, which was short tonight
