A little life - Hanya Yanagihara, I'm suggesting this book for no other reason that it is next in my reading pile and looks really interesting!
Firstly, hello I'm a new member from Belgium, and I love your videos, Simon! I hope that you'll manage YouTube with your work :)I'm gonna recommend :
- Catch-22, book I'm actually reading
- 1984 by Orwell, or Brave New World by Huxley
- The Stranger by Camus (I had exam on this bad boy)
The Catcher in the Rye, 1984, Brave New World, Catch-22 and The Stranger all sound amazing. Also, perhaps "The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro. Or "The Perfume" by Patrick Süskind.
(Only fiction, I know. I'm terrible.)
The Grapes of Wrath - John SteinbeckA Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking
Bad Science -Ben Goldacre
Also have to agree with Hussah, A brief history of time by Stephen hawking. Been wanting to read it for a while.
Just something short please - I've only just started reading Sapiens and I'm listening to Metamorphosis (we studied the play in GCSE drama and I didn't hate it but I think I just got bored of it - the stage play in London was amazing thought)! Maybe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Xx

My vote for both Brief History of Time and Grapes of Wrath
The Gene by Sidartha Mukerjee a great book on the history and future of genetics.Sidartha Mukerjee is a Pulitzer winning author and a Rhodes scholars whose last book, cancer the emperor of all maladies, which was made into an amazing Ken burns docu-series, is listed as one of the most influential books of all time by time mag.
I recommend Fiela's Child, I just finished reading it for english and it was really really good! Now I'm not good at summaries so I'll skip out on that part, but the book deals with issues such as racism, and identity crises and all of that
Is the poll still open? If it is, I'd like to throw in my hat for Americanah by Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie, a (really) fantastic and thought-provoking book!
Otherwise A Brief History of Time :D
Do no harm - Henry marsh or complications - Atul Gawande or potentially when breath becomes air - Paul kalanithi ( however this one is particularly tear jerking but incredible nonetheless) all incredibly written and thought provoking books which I would recommend to anyone

Let's read an Austen or Bronte novel, please!! Pretty please? :DJane Eyre or Sense & Sensibility.
We can also pick up any other novel from the classics genre.
Luc wrote: "I'd like to propose Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Survive by Jared Diamond"I agree
Also in favor of a Stephen Hawking's a brief history of time (its been sitting on my bookshelf and I've been meaning to get to it) currently tackling BOTH of Sapiens and aHuxley's Brave New World upon Simon's recommendation :)
I'm up for multiple books already mentioned (thinking fast and slow is one of my highest regarded books, 1984 I'd think most have already read, Hitchhiker's Guide is just insane fun, A Brave New World I still have to finally get some time). But for something else, how about Waking Up by Sam Harris? Tackling a topic of spirituality from a scientific point of view (e.g. the effects of meditation on the brain), leaving out all the mumbo jumbo. Fairly short book, insanely well written and clear as can be.
I'm going to give some book recomendations of books that i've not read yet but i'd like to read!1. The Universe in Your Hand: A Journey Through Space, Time, and Beyond
2.Morning Star (Red Rising, #3)
By Brown, Pierce *
3.Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?
Hi Simon...found your YouTube today and joined your Goodreads group. When do you post the book TBR? Is it a read each month? Loving your vids. Thanks
