Awards > Award search case-sensitive?

I was just searching for the Akutagawa Prize, which I know is already in the GR database, and lazily typed 'akutagawa' - imagine my surprise when there were no hits. 'Akutagawa' does give one result, however.

I imagine this could lead to duplicate awards if people are searching for them and not finding them. People aren't strict about capitalization when searching, and there are multilingual issues, too (for example, the person who entered the award name capitalized all the words, but the norm for that language is to capitalize only the first).

Yes it is case sensitive (I got caught out when I started helping)

That is a good suggestion but you would probably have to make it over in Feedback.

Linda (lindalanz) | 159 comments Good to know. I can't believe I hadn't noticed before.

I'll go suggest it in Feedback. I wonder how many duplicates we've had over the years because of this?
