Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments In 2016, I managed to hit 125, mostly because I've started really enjoying reading comics. This year I'm going to stretch my total goal to 150.

I'm still hoping for 36 (3/month) of these to be new books, not including comics or re-reads.

I keep meaning to add this book to my list.

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments The whole trilogy is really good, Andrea.

Ahead of schedule on both my main goal and my sub goal!

I am way ahead for the first year ever! While this feels really good in my reading world it means I am slacking working out...lol

Something has to give for other things to prosper. lol. Not enough time in the day!

I pack every minute of my day and barely watch any tv. I need more downtime in my life. I want to watch some bad tv....lol

message 13: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments I usually have one or two shows going, but I've basically watched no TV since coming back from the holidays. Which, come to think of it, is probably why I've gotten so much reading done these first few weeks. I'm sure the pendulum will swing back soon as I'm looking for more mindless downtime activities.

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments 11. The Hidden Oracle [4/36]

Bit of a slow week, just the one book. Lots of single issue comics though. I guess maybe I should come up with a way of counting them, like five issues = one book (since that's usually about what's in a trade). I'll figure out something later.

These are in my TBR. Playing with Fire is coming up on my audiobook list, I'm trying to get to my oldest ones.

I've been reading a lot of comics as well. As far as my own accounting goes, if the individual issue is a self-contained story I log it on it's own. Usually, though, I just group story arc issues together and count them as one, as if they were a TPB. I really wish I could enjoy the digital comics as much as the print ones- these things get expensive in the amounts that I want to read! ;)

Charleen, you are eating up books this year!

message 20: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Stacie, digital comics were the only way I could read them at first. I was having such a hard time until I started using Guided View. It was like training wheels for teaching my brain how to read the panels on a page. Now, though, I enjoy them either way.

Thanks, Andrea. I feel like I usually start strong and then life gets away from me as the year goes on (and, unless I'm stubbornly trying to reach a goal I'm behind on, December is basically a lost cause). So, we'll see.

I have this audiobook but haven't listened to it yet. I love Anna Kendrick.

message 23: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments I listened to the audio and she was so great.

How was it? I've been meaning to read some Kate Morton books!

message 26: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments I loved it! I need to look into more of hers.

message 27: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments 20. My Not So Perfect Life [10/36]
21. The Princess Diarist [11/36]

Two months into 2017 and I'm a little behind on my overall goal, but I'm way ahead on my mini-goal. So... overall I guess it's a win.

I've lost track of The Last Star. I was in the e-library queue, then got it, then returned it because I was reading other things and wouldn't have time, and now it's plummeted on my list. lol

I really LOVED this book; I read it so long ago, I really should re-read it, but my list is so big I am trying to limit my re-reads to comfort books and while this book was awesome, I would not call it a comfort book. So I will just get one of her newer ones and squeeze it in somewhere. :-)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments 27. I've Got Your Number [re-read]

message 34: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Whoops, got behind in my updates!

31. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World [15/36]
32. Ms. Marvel Masterworks Vol. 2 (Ms. Marvel
33. Wolverine: Old Man Logan

By the end of this month, I'm supposed to be at 50/150 total books read. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen.

You're still doing well though!

message 36: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments And I'm well ahead of my mini-goal. So basically I'm just not reading as many comics as I thought I would.

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Wow, okay, all of summer missing here, but even though it's been two and a half months, I really don't have much to update. It's not even that I haven't been reading, but I've been making my way through Stephen King's It for what feels like forever, so my only completed titles have been comics (and one audiobook).

50. Wonder Woman, Volume 1: The Lies
51. Wonder Woman, Volume 2: Year One
52. The Cubs Way: The Zen of Building the Best Team in Baseball and Breaking the Curse [24/36]
53. Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!, Volume 2: Don't Stop Me-Ow
54. Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!, Volume 3: Careless Whiskers
55. Spider-Man/Deadpool, Vol. 1: Isn't it Bromantic
56. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Vol. 1: BFF
57. Black Widow, Volume 1: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Most Wanted
58. Black Widow Vol. 2: No More Secrets (Black Widow

Charlene - I remember when I was reading the Stand it went on and on forever!!! I felt like I wasn't reading anything else.

message 46: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Yup. I did start a couple other things in between there, but nothing that stuck. I'm really bad at reading multiple books at once, but with chunksters like these I really wish I could!
