On the first page it said one nomination per member. Is that not true?
Right, it's supposed to be one nomination per member - if you nominate more than one, Sara or Juanita will probably ask which one to use in the poll.
There are some great choices here, but I'd like to put in a vote for Roots: The Saga of an American Family by Alex Haley. It's a long one for sure, but it is so gorgeous I've read it three times already.
Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor NoahSaw this recommended on another thread (subtitle prompt, possibly), really want to read it.
Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race
The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan - it's been on my TBR list for a while, and I love the magical style of her engrossing writing.
I also vote for Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Americanah was great so I'm really interested in reading this one.
Some great books listed, many I have already read. I choose Jazz. My book club/made into movie club will be reading this and then seeing the play to discuss. We dud There Eyes last November. Great book and great book to discuss.
Swing Time by Zadie Smith is my vote. (And, I know one vote per person, but I would say there are a couple old friends that were mentioned that I wouldn't mind revisiting.)
