Nancy Groves | 67 comments I read the detective novel Charcoal Joe by Walter Mosley for a book club and realized it would work for this task. The detective, Easy Rawlins, is pretty much the only "point of view character," and he's African American.

Chinook | 88 comments I didn’t slot it in here but I can’t recall why. It may be that I thought the boyfriend was too much a part of the narrative and he’s white.

Vicki Wilkerson Christy | 3 comments What about Ten Women by Marcela Serrano ? It's translated and is all about Chilean women - each chapter is a different one's story.
