Can't wait to start the challenge =]I have two in mind at the moment :)
Why I Read: The Serious Pleasure of Books by Wendy Lesser
AND
Am I Alone Here?: Notes on Living to Read and Reading to Live by Peter Orner
The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommendis my in person book groups Jan pick. I'm thinking that will work for this one.
Britt wrote: "The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly :)"That is one of my all time favorites.
I'm thinking about The Thirteenth Tale, When I Was a Child I Read Books, What We See When We Read, or The End of Your Life Book Club. The last three were recently mentioned on one of the recent BR podcast episodes and caught my ear.
The Thirteenth Tale has been on my TBR list for quite some time...but The Little Paris Bookshop has been stalking me for the past year, popping it's pretty cover here and there. Hmm...
Here's another list of books about books that I saw posted today... http://offtheshelf.com/2016/09/13-boo...
Here are some books about books that I've already read and recommend to others. I love seeing all the suggestions!Ways to Disappear
A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter
Joe Gould's Secret
When Books Went to War: The Stories that Helped Us Win World War II
China in Ten Words (my favorite part of this book is the section on books being banned, and their gradual reintroduction after the Cultural Revolution)
I have a shelf of books about books: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...I would really recommend When Books Went to War- which can also count for a book about war.
Although I'm going to read: The Shelf: From LEQ to LES: Adventures in Extreme Reading since it has been sitting on my to-read shelf for too long!
Theresa wrote: "Here's another list of books about books that I saw posted today... http://offtheshelf.com/2016/09/13-boo..."Thanks for posting, I found some really good ideas on there!
A Gentle Madness: Bibliophiles, Bibliomanes, and the Eternal Passion for Books is a long one, but it's full of really fascinating (and sometimes very funny!) stories about book collectors.
This will be a fun one. I'm thinking one of the following: The Eyre Affair
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Fahrenheit 451
When Books Went to War: The Stories that Helped Us Win World War II
Britt: Would The Book of Lost Things count as fantasy too? That's not a category where I've done much reading.
I was thinking of going coffee table non-fiction with this and use it as an excuse to buy Classic Penguin: Cover to Cover - I really like books on book cover design.I read What We See When We Read last year and that is an interesting book about visualisation of books as well.
I can recommend Mr Penumbra's 24 hr book store for this category. Lots of interesting mysterious books! Not sure what I'll pick yet.
I'll be reading The Four Books, by Yan Lianke https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... ...... or maybe I'll finally finish The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... :)

OH MY. I have long been fascinated with the movie Fahrenheit 451 but have never read the book. And here I was wondering what to read for this category. Thank you!!
The Shadow of the Wind was very good.I'm considering The Library at Mount Char or The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry.
I really liked the AJ Fikry book. I'm going to read Out of the Flames: The Remarkable Story of a Fearless Scholar, a Fatal Heresy, and One of the Rarest Books in the World
If you haven't read it, 84, Charing Cross Road is a fast read but absolutely perfect. Love that little book.
Amanda wrote: "The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommendis my in person book groups Jan pick. I'm thinking that will work for this one."Yes, it will work. And it was one of my favorites that I read this year!

It snuck up on me, but I really enjoyed The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. I started reading The Library at Mount Char last month but put it aside to concentrate on books for various challenges. Maybe I will go back to it in January for this challenge.
oohh, I think I'll finally read An Unnecessary Woman. if you are thinking about The Shadow of the Wind, do it!
I'm thinking The Dancing Mind by Toni Morrison. It's short, but I'd like to read more people of color, and especially women of color. Not many to choose from in this category.

Thank you so much. I'm a rabid books about books reader, so I've read all but two on that list of 7. The Reader on the 6.27 sounds like my jam :)

Hi fellow readers! For those of you considering reading The Library at Mount Char for this task, just a head's up - it doesn't really have anything to do with a book or books. I read it earlier this year (actually for a task on the 2016 RH Challenge) and absolutely loved it, but just want to clarify for those of you looking at it for this. It could, however, definitely fit the "Fantasy" task - it's a wild ride! Happy reading :)
I just finished reading "This Monstrous Thing" which is the authors take on Frankenstein. I really enjoyed the story and the actual Frankenstein book is part of the story. I think it would qualify for this task if anyone is interested.
I'm definitely going to read 84, Charing Cross Road, by Helene Hanff. I may also read Letters to a Young Novelist, by Mario Vargas Llosa, and Why Not Catch-21?: The Stories Behind the Titles, by Gary Dexter, since all these books are rather short.I recommend The Shadow of the Wind, The Name of the Rose, and How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading.
Amanda wrote: "The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommendis my in person book groups Jan pick. I'm thinking that will work for this one."I loved that book! Read it earlier this year.
My book club just read The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan, which was so sweet and an easy read. I wouldn't necessarily call it a romance novel, but there is some romance. It's set in the Scottish Highlands - it was just a really fun read. I should have saved it for this task, but we're meeting next week so I had to go ahead and read it!
I'm going to read The Year of Reading Dangerously. I also have How to Be a Heroine: Or, What I've Learned from Reading too Much but I'm not sure that counts.

Ooooooh, I absolutely loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The audiobook was amazing!

It is a fun book and it moves along quickly and I don't think I can make it last until January 1.
