Fantasy Book about 3 different world with 3 different color of dragons. [s]

I am looking for a book i had back in the 90's that was fairly thick, might have been a trilogy. It was a fantasy book where the characters eventually traveled possibly through a portal to another level/world where there was another type of dragon, bronze, silver, gold maybe.

Any help would be nice

Have you checked out Anne McCaffrey's Dragon Riders of Pern. It's been ages since I've read her books but I think the colours were the same.

Possibly the dragon quartet, by Marjorie B. Kellogg? There are four, but they came out several years apart, so the first three could have been released in one volume. The first one is The Book of Earth. There is a dragon for each book, associated with the four elements, so they are different colors and types of dragon.

This is what I was going to suggest as well, it's also got the travel to different/times worlds thing.

It might have started with a Ch in the title but i am unsure still.

Maybe the Kelvin of Rud series by Piers Anthony? Starts with Dragon's Gold, then Serpent's Silver, then Chimera's Copper.
