Thanks for the first smile of the day. This is ingenious.
Again, if you are trying to start your own Showcase, don't do it by adding a comment here. Start a new topic following the guidelines from the first comment in this post.

Click in the folder name at the top of this thread. You will see an option to create a new thread. Click that. Follow the rules stated above and one of us will place your thread in the appropriate folder.

From the first post in this thread: "Each member may create ONE thread in the New Member Check-in Folder (that is this folder right here) . Your post must be titled using the following format:"

Where exactly is the New Member Showcase folder? You don't want us to post in the A-Z threads. So where can we post an introduction? I am confused.
As it says in the instructions, you're looking for the New Member Check-in Folder. It goes on to point out that this thread is in the New Member Check-in Folder. You start a new thread in this folder with the title "Zhana Zhana: (Whatever your genre is)". Once that is done, someone will move it to the proper folder for you.

You comment on someone else’s thread because you feel you have something in common with them to start a conversation and that is deleted.
I am obviously not the only one confused by this whole posting nonsense with colons and semi colons in the correct place or else they are deleted.
Scott,
As stated, I deleted your comment on someone else's thread as you were asking them to look up your books on Amazon. This is called hijacking.
The rules are not that hard to follow. You found the New Members Check In folder, right? All you need to do is start your own thread here, not in another folder, not posting to someone else's thread to sell your own books.

No, you are definitely not the only one.

There is only one topic, post or discussion in the New Members CheckIn & Rules - this one. Nobody else appears to be posting there And the Member Showcase folder is alphabetized. So where exactly are we supposed to post an introduction? Please post the link here. Thanks.
I'm not sure why you need a link to the folder when you obviously have found it, but here it is:

As has been explained, you go into THIS FOLDER and start A NEW THREAD with your name and genre. I wonder if people are just overthinking this. It's really not that complicated.

When I click on the link, do I put my name and my genre where it says "new topic"? Thanks.
And please don't say "it's not complicated," it makes me feel stupid and diminished.
It's not meant to make anyone feel anything. It's meant to help people not stress over it so much. I often feel that people overthink the process.
And, yes, you would need to hit "new topic".

Please read and follow the instructions. You can't just put up posts like that anywhere you want.

Each member may create ONE thread in the New Member Check-in Folder (that is this folder right here. Not this thread. You MUST create your own thread). Your post must be titled using the following format:
Your Full Name (or pen name): Short description
For example: my thread would be called “Christina McMullen: Scifi and Fantasy Author” but if I have a new release, I might change it to “Christina McMullen: Preorder is Live for (NEW TITLE)”
In your initial post (repeating from above: do not comment below, please make a new topic), please introduce yourself. You may also link to your books, blog, or whatever. This is your thread to talk about you. Mods will monitor this folder and once we've welcomed you, we'll sort you into the correct folder.
Please do not post first in the alphabetized folders. We will delete you if you do.
You do not need to be an author to have a showcase thread. All we ask is that each member follow our rules. The rules are very simple:
Threads without a proper title will be deleted.
More than one member thread will be deleted.
Do not “bump” your post. If you have something to say, say it, but artificially bumping to be first will result in other posts being pinned to the top so that yours will never get there.
DO NOTE: It is up to you as to whether or not you want to invite others to post on your thread or if you want this to be just a showcase for you. As these will not be monitored as closely, please let a moderator know if you are having trouble with harassment or hijackers on your thread. Obviously, do not harass or hijack fellow members’ threads.
