Chee-Hahn I have to begin with a spoiler, because this defines my whole review, so stop reading it you don’t want to know what happens.

So Tris, the Christ figure who was almost thrown into a chasm, almost died at the hands of her mind-controlled boyfriend, had a gun pressed against her head by Eric, was led to her own execution, fought her CG twin to the death, and has the unique ability to resist mind control serum, truth serum, and even death serum --- is shot by a man in a wheelchair (because she forgot her gun) and dies forgotten as an anonymous rebel.
Really? Is this a joke?
.
The tragedy is compounded by that many of Tris’ accomplishments throughout the entire series are pointless. She struggled to get to the top of her Dauntless class in Divergent so she could get a place in a top job with Dauntless leadership, which was pointless because as soon as she graduated, the Dauntless faction was turned into a mind controlled army.
She got people killed in her secret mission to try get the Edith Prior video in Insurgent, which was pointless because she had to do was cry and convince Tobias to get the video from Caleb.
She unleashed a memory serum on the Bureau in Allegiant to prevent the Bureau from resetting the memory of Chicago, which was pointless because the whole reason the Bureau was going to unleash the memory serum on Chicago was to prevent mass killings from the war between the Factionless and Abdnegation, and meanwhile Tobias brokered a truce between the Factionless and Abnegation, taking away the entire reason for the memory reset.
Such a meaningless life then lays bare the increasingly absurd illogical plots holes in Allegiant.

Giulia I know, all very senseless. I wished I had stopped at book 1.
Roth has an aversion to anything good happening to her main characters...
