Guys, this is not news. ALL the old shadowhunter families are related to each other. Jace is also related to the Starkweathers, the Carstairs, and the Whitelaws.
True, and besides, why is that so terrible?
what is wrong about it? alec was interested in jace but that is history.
for that matter did jace and clary not crush on each other even after finding out that they could be siblings?
i know he is related to the starkweathers also but how is he related to the carstairs and whitelaws???

___SPOILER___ Why is this bad? It doesn't matter any way cause Alec goes with Magnus Bane which is great and, Jace and Alec were never meant to be anyway. Jace belongs with Clary<333.
It wouldn't even be a big deal if they decided to date (let's ignore that Jace isn't gay). If your great great great grandparents are siblings, that makes you 5th cousins, and 5th cousins are really not that closely related. People marry their 5th cousins all the time without even knowing.
i think wha'ts ewwwwER is the possibility that when Jem finally dies and Tessa after a while gets into another relationship (i hope she doesn't, but you never know with those warlocks) and well CC says she's got around 50 or so descendants at the time of COHF and i'm not actually sure if she keeps tab on all of them (hopefully she does) but after years and decades and scores and centuries the descendants are gonna multiply to thousands or possibly millions and she's running the risk of....what I'm getting at is the whole creepy, icky sort of worse than a V.C. Andrews novel Oedipus-Jocasta situation...uhmmm..sort of but worse, anyway i'm blabbing and i wish i'd never thought of it...*shivers*
Yeah, but again, you're just not that closely related to your 20th generation descendent. In 20 generations, most shadowhunters will be descended from her in a bunch of different ways. It's not that gross.

theres nothing wrong with it at all. it just makes it better, in my opinion.
theres nothing bad about alec being related to jace..and besides alec is interested in magnus..

first,i thought jace was related to consul josiah wayland who comes in the infernal devices but then i come to know he is a herondale and then he suddenly is a lightwood!! not acceppted!!
