Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments I posted a calendar of daily readings from the first volume of Ante-Nicene Fathers series (ANF). It covers the Apostolic Fathers Clement of Rome, Polycarp, Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr and Irenaeus. Reading an average of 14 pages per day, readers can finish volume 1 in six weeks.

Check out the calendar at the new group site:

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments Does anyone use Google Calendar?

I'd like to convert the reading plan into a Calendar so that it can be easily accessed from mobile devices.

Reasonable plan. I see that the text can be downloaded to Kindle which I use. I am transferring the schedule to Excel to keep track of the readings. Google calendar would be good if I knew how to use it.

Kerstin | 317 comments Nemo, that was a lot of work. Thank you!

Susan Margaret (susanmargaretg) Thank you Nemo! I saved the reading plan as a home page on my iPad.

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments I'm glad that people find the reading plan helpful. It is a work in progress. If you find any errors or have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

FYI, you can read the text online for free @ CCEL. They charge a token amount (less than $3 per book) for ebook downloads for Kindle and iPad, but PDF and plain text versions are also free, which can be easily converted to ebooks. If you need help getting the ebooks, let me know.

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments For those of you who are interested in participating in the "Know the Ante-Nicene Fathers" challenge, I've posted the calendar for the entire year of 2017. Reading an average of 14 pages per day, you can finish all 9 volumes in one year.

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments You're welcome, Marcus. I'm also participating in this challenge. The more people, the merrier. :)

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments For the convenience of our group members, I've also converted the reading plan into Google Calendar, and iCal for Apple devices like iPhone and iPad. Once you download the calendar, it will send you alerts daily with a link to the reading of the day.

Nemo (nemoslibrary) | 1505 comments Just a friendly reminder to sign up for "Know the Ante-Nicene Fathers" challenge, if you want to get a completion certificate at the end of the year for finishing the series.

I am going to sign up for 4 for now. I much rather adjust upwards than downwards :)

AJ I set the bar low too just because I have so much I'm already working with. I'm also lost, where are we again? No worries I'll figure out, and probably get started this weekend.

We'll be reading the First Apology of Justin Martyr starting Tues. Jan 10. You can keep track by downloading the calendar from the group site posted at the top of this page.

Cleo (cleopatra18) | 19 comments I've already fallen way behind. I've had a very sick child over the holidays who still is not better and am drowning under a mountain of responsibilities. I'm really very sorry as I was looking forward to participating but the discussions appear to be moving so quickly I'm not going to be able to keep up right now. If you want to delete me, Nemo, that's fine ~ I can request to join again if I can get a grip on things. ;-) Again, my apologies!

Susan Cleo, I hope your child feels better quickly.

Thank you for writing to us. I've been missing you.

Will keep you and yours in our prayers.

Luke J. Wilson (mrlewk) | 70 comments I hope it's not impropriate to post this here, but I'm currently just finishing writing a book which is a daily reading plan called "40 Days with the Fathers". This takes you through the first 400 years of prominent church fathers. You can see an overview at http://fortydays.co.uk for those interested in these things :)
