Do you have a book you want to read, but don't want to go it alone? Think it would be more fun to read with someone else? Then find yourself a buddy here.

To request a buddy read, make a comment in this thread stating the name of the book, the author, and the start date (if you have a preference).
We'll create a thread as soon as there is any interest in a buddy read.

I read non-stop but it's predominately fiction. I want to tackle some non-fiction this year. I am aiming for one NF a month.
Would anyone be interested in reading with me?

So far I am interested in The Devil in the White…Erik Larson
and Yuval Noah Harari - Sapiens - A Brief History of Humankind

I'd love to read The Shining. Start date?

message 29: by Tania (new)

Tania My favorite book series is The Dark Tower by Stephen King, and the first movie is coming out this year. (Something I have been anticipating for years!) I really want to get the series read again before I go see it at the end of July, because I think the movie is going to be built upon the series as a whole and it has been several years since I read it.

I realize that committing to a whole series might be a bit much, but would anyone want to buddy read The Gunslinger with me? The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King

I am still looking for a buddy! :) When would you be interested in reading it? I own the book, so I can read whenever, but I'm not in a hurry if you need to acquire it or are finishing up something else right now.

Karen (karen-ann) | 140 comments Hi Tania,
Downloaded volume one The Gunslinger onto my kindle. How would you like to do this buddy read divide the book into sections and discuss each section as we read it or discuss after we both have read the whole book. Its your suggestion so I am happy to go with whatever you want.

It is a relatively short book, but I like discussing as we go along, both so I don't forget something I wanted to talk about and to keep me accountable on my reading. I will take a look at the book and see what would be a good breakdown.

message 50: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Whitley (chrissiewhitley) Okay, LittleRedRidingHood, I can begin reading on Monday.

Now what? We wait for a discussion board to be set-up by the moderators? We set a reading schedule (it's a rather short book, so that won't be hard), and then what?
