If you are page on 0, might I suggest you give up now and read Fowles' magnus opus, "The Magus." It is simply the best book I have ever read. It will leave you mentally scarred for weeks afterwards. I even went to Spetses, the Greek island where the story is set, in search of answers (I didn't find any). Trust me, you will thank me for it.

I got stuck halfway through The Magus.
