Aiden (The Book Scourge) | 83 comments Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is very loosely based on the novel of the same name. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was released on November 18 2016.
Just so you know I haven't seen it yet, but I will this weekend. Heard the reviews are great!

Sail (sailordowden) I never actually read it, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the movie.. The animals were great, but the plot-line wasn't the best. Idk, maybe it's just me. I know that most people loved the movie

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I was a fun movie. But don't expect it to be like the Harry Potter movies.

message 4: by Claire (new)

Claire | 9 comments I surprisingly liked it a lot. I went into it without knowing a thing except that it is loosely based on the school book. It was very refreshing after the cursed child, because the wizarding world is expanded even further. It felt almost like the original books.
Don't set your hopes to high and I am sure you'll have a great time.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments Yeah. And also, it's not really a "kids" movie.

I'm not going to expect Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to be anything like Harry Potter. I just want something to scrub my brain of The Cursed Child.

You didn't like Cursed Child?

Aiden (The Book Scourge) | 83 comments Elizabeth wrote: "You didn't like Cursed Child?"

Sadly, yes. :(

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not very far through it (act 2 scene 10 maybe) and I only like Scorpius. I don't like anything else.

message 10: by Aiden (The Book Scourge) (last edited Dec 10, 2016 07:00PM) (new)

Aiden (The Book Scourge) | 83 comments I really liked Scorpius and the moments with Draco. Despite everything else.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. I really don't like Albus. He's kind of annoying. I'd rather read about Scorpius.

Michael Houle | 24 comments I really enjoyed Fantastic Beasts. I thought it was fun and touching. It also had a good message about tolerance and acceptance. I haven't read the book yet, but I will.

Aiden (The Book Scourge) | 83 comments At last I got to see this with a close friend in the afternoon. I had a wonderful time!

message 14: by Claire (new)

Claire | 9 comments I feel the same way about the Cursed Child. The movie really worked wonders in restoring my faith.

I still haven't touched that. I still feel butthurt that it is officially considered the 8th book in the series. Uh... nope.

I'm going to go see it today with my friend I'm so excited!!!!

Awesome! Hope you have a great time.

I refuse to believe that The Cursed Child is canon. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole if I were you.

Just watched Fantastic Beasts!!!! It's pretty great. Eddie Redmayne did an awesome job at playing Newt Scamander.

Same. I don't even have a copy of the book.

I haven't read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two yet. But everyone seems to be panning it. Is there anyone out there who liked it? Maybe someone can tell me what's so terrible (without spoilers please.) Should I just skip it?

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments ^ I've read more negative than positive reviews. And even those were lukewarm.

(At least, among the people I trust, majority of them hated it. And hated the fact that it is considered canon.)

Guys. You know how Mr. Graves gave Gredance a Deathly Hallows necklace? That was our hint right there that he was Grindelwald. Nobody in America knew what those were therefore he had to be from Europe and he was wanting the 3 Deathly Hallows.

I didn't realize it until last night when I was replaying it in my head.

message 27: by Aly (new)

Aly I really enjoyed this movie

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I had no idea that it was a book...

message 29: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 1 comments I've just finished the screenplay book. I loved the film and the book is just as good, also the illustrations throughout are just stunning.

message 30: by Aly (new)

Aly I really liked the beasts. I think being in his suitcase was great and they did that part so well on the movie.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Still haven't read the book or seen the movie

I think it may be at Redbox now, if you are interested.
