Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 1 Cosmic Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 1: Cosmic Avengers The changes made to Peter's backstory kind of made me want to yell "back in my day...!", but once I got my inner grumpy old lady under control I enjoyed it.

Nibbles The Book Monster by Emma Yarlett Nibbles: The Book Monster We gave this to my Great-nephew over the Thanksgiving holidays and he was so excited that he couldn't wait for someone to read it to him. Again, and again and again. Then he grabbed the book, ran over to his cousin (a remarkably unconcerned six month old) and demanded that we read it to her, too! Alex is two weeks shy of his fourth birthday, so if any of you have any little ones around that age that you are looking to get books for, I can highly recommend this one. It's cute, there are lots of little flaps to open and explore to keep their attention engaged and it doesn't make the adult want to scream after the fourth reading in a row!

Stacie (stacieh) | 1945 comments 80. Medieval Heroines in History and Legend by Bonnie Wheeler Medieval Heroines in History and Legend This was well presented and informative... and such a slog to get through (we're talking almost 2 months)! While I was listening I kept thinking "well, this isn't bad" and "that's kind of interesting" but I kept having a hard time picking it up again whenever I put it down. I think that was more of a 'me' issue than an author issue, though. It may be time to bring out the fluff for a bit! Or just dust off my Sims, since this one finishes up my personal goal of 80.

Sounds hard to read. I enjoyed Princesses Behaving Badly: Real Stories from History—without the Fairy-Tale Endings! :)

Castle in the Air (Howl's Moving Castle, #2) by Diana Wynne Jones Castle in the Air This came highly recommended to me by a friend, and I would likely have adored it... when I was about fifteen (that was the start of my Piers Anthony stage). Where I am right now in my reading life, I just felt kind of sad that I didn't like it more.

...And that's all i'm going to get finished this year. All in all, it was a good year for reading. Here's to another one!
