Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2017!

My name is Ana. I am from Serbia, but I lived in few other countries in Europe, and I'm soon moving to D.C. I have a degree in Russian language and literature and Political Science. I like to read classics, as well as more contemporary authors. Czech authors fit my taste well. :) Until now I read mostly non-American authors, but I'm planning to change that. I also read a lot of non-fiction books specialized in art history, sociology, history and politics.
I'm excited to become part of this group, and I'm looking forward to discovering new books with you. :)

My name's Ash, I'm from Milwaukee, WI, (The States). Don't particularly like long walks on sandy beaches but do enjoy every genre of book, aside from the cheesy 80/90s supermarket romance novels. My reading goal for 2017 is 26 books and I'm at 18 books I believe thus far. :)

My name is Aimee, and I love reading anything from non-fiction, classical works, essays, young adult fiction, scifi and fantasy, mythology. I especially like those semi-dystopian novels about alternate futures or pasts and steampunk. I'm sure there are a hundred other genres I could list. But that's a good start.
My favorite authors of forever are Terry Pratchett and Scott Westerfeld.
I'm currently in Southern Arizona. And I'd like to try reading more non-fiction books this year. I'm going to go with five. So far I've read 2.5.

Books are my passion. I like to read romance, SF, crime, mystery, horror, all kinds of books. And also collecting them. This year my reading goal is 30 books. It's not much, but I hope I can do it.

My name is Kristen and I am joining the group from Bettendorf, Iowa located right on the Mississippi River. I am an Exercise Science major working on certifications to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist with hopes of pursuing a masters in Public Health. When I am not reading, I am competing in bodybuilding shows throughout the United States. I have never been a part of a club before and am exciting to join one.
I am very open minded when it comes genres of books. I love fiction in general, books about traveling, and autobiographies in particular. My favorite books that I have read so far this year are The Night Circus, The Girl With Seven Names, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and the Glass Castle.
My reading goal is a book every week. I would like to explore different genres, however. I was hoping that by joining a club I would be exposed to more ideas.

Welcome Kristin, I'm looking for short stories. If you know of any let me know. Ideal is 200 pages or under. Welcome. Have you ever read Arnold Schwartzeneggar's Bodybuilding for Women? I was thinking about doing the workouts for a couple months at least during fall and winter. It looks like some good information lemme know.

Shauna , Great name btw! Can you think of any short stories? I haven't read romance in years? I've been reading old and weird stuff for a while now. Classics and sci-fi fantasy mostly. Have you checked out the reading challenges or Buddy Reads yet? The popsugar or dead writers are two of my favorites reading challenges. Even tho I'm super behind.

Thanks! Not a romance fan. Have you read The Bazaar of Bad Dreams? It's on my list and supposed to be a great collection.

Happy Reading!

My goodreads reading challenge is progressing well and I have completed 41/50 books for this year challenge.
Thanks....

Happy Birthday Aarathi!! :D

Don't worry Antonella, there are lots of non-native English speakers around (myself included)! :)

My name is Kaumudi and i'm from India. I love to read classic, murder-mystery, young adult ficton, romance, adventure ficton & fantasy novel or anything which I can get on discount because i am broke half of the time, Contrary to which I love collecting books and just keeping them on my shelf because one look at my room and you would understand how much of a procrastinator I am. I have been wanting to join a book club for so long and when I made a goodreads account today and saw it has book clubs, I just knew I had to join one, so here I am.
Now my reading goal- I am a pretty fast reader and it takes me just a day to complete a book of around 500 pages which is why I never set my goal according to book numbers so I will just go with the flow and read as many book as my procrastinating self can read.

I found this group by browsing groups on Goodreads.
I enjoy all types of books but my favorites are psychological thrillers.
My book goal for 2017 is 200 and I am on 152.
Hi everyone!

My two favorite authors so far are Liane Moriarty and Nicholas Sparks. I have realized I've got an obsession of buying tons of books, I'm building a library rather fast, almost 80 books now.
My goal this year was to read 8 books, but I think next year's goal will be forty.

Are you planning on joining any of the group-/buddy reads or challenges? Looking forward to see what you will be reading! Happy reading!

Oohh, I had forgotten all about the book clip lights, good old times. These days I am so happy with my Kobo Aura, no additional lights needed :)
Happy reading!

My tastes range widely, many thrillers, some classic horror, the occasionally autobiography and a little politics. Anything that appeals, a good story always hooks me in. Also I read cricket books, the older and tattier the better.
My reading goal is 24. Plucked out of the air, see how it goes: some long reads are in my libraries !

I hope by joining this group, I will be more motivated to finish a book than buying a new one. And able to inspire one another into a more positive way. Let's read better!

One of my all time favorite authors is J. R. R. Tolkien. Currently I'm in love with Shadowhunter Chronicles. (I'm reading Lady Midnight now)
