Hello all! My name is Rosa. I'm from WI. My friend Crystal introduced me to Good Reads last year. I made a profile, but didn't really start using it until I saw the Reading Challenge. I know I read a lot of books last year (and every year before because I love to read!), but thought it would be neat to make a goal and have a place to catalogue all the books I read this year. So, here I am!

I enjoy fiction the most (mysteries, science fiction, romance, thrillers, etc), but as a single mother of 3, I also read alot of books on cooking, spirituality, mental health, child rearing and behavior. I love Goodreads because not only does it suggest books to read based on what I have read, but now that I have connected with some of my friends, seeing what they read gives me an insight into their lives that I never had before. It has also inspired my sister and I to start a book club! I set a personal goal of 50 books in 2017, but I'm sure I will smash it, especially once summer comes! Nothing quite like laying in the sun, on a blanket, with a good book!

Hello :) I love reading but with going back to school plus working I haven't been cracking open the books as much as I'd like. I thought this group might give me a push! I'm from Florida and I like to read literary fiction, sci-fi, short stories, and a lot of classics. I tend to re-read a lot of books because I can be fairly picky so I definitely enjoy a good recommendation. I just finished re-reading Dune by Frank Herbert and am now on Dune Messiah, the next book in the series. If you like sci-fi and haven't read Dune, it's a must-read! Promise you won't be disappointed. ;) I'm quite behind in my goal for this year but I'd like to read 60 books this year. I've never kept track before so we'll see how this goes!

Hello I'm Mike from the UK I've been a member of goodreads for sometime now. But not really got underneath the bonnet of what this site offers until now! Over the last few years I've set myself a goal as to the number of books to read but come up miserably short. Then realised that I spend a considerable amount of time in my car therefore started downloading and listening to audiobooks. Started with a modest target of 12 books in 2017 so far I'm on track and I will probably exceed my goal. I typically read personal development, self help, complimentary therapies, business, special interest and futurist. Hey, I'm Heather! I'm from New Jersey, less than a 20 minute ride from the shore and an hour outside NYC.

I was an avid reader growing up and throughout high school, but once I graduated I pretty much hit a wall and didn't get back into reading until last summer, so it was about a two year gap during which I read maybe... two books? Now I literally can't stop. I set my goal to 15 books, mostly because I didn't want to get obsessed or for reading to suddenly not be fun anymore (fun fact: I suffer from anxiety, so stress is my middle name, panic attacks are my game). But what do ya know, I've already read 10 books so far this year, with about 100 on my to-read list. Safe to say I'll meet my goal.

I love YA fantasy (my FAVORITE genre), fairytale retellings, historical romance and fiction, and YA fiction. Please give me a badass heroine and POC representation, thanks.

Wow this was insanely too long. Anyways, nice to meet all of you and I hope I can get to know some people who actually enjoy reading here. Shading all my irl friends because literally not one of them reads, ever.

Hey! I'm Guiana and I'm from Canada. I'm new to Goodreads and also somewhat new to reading. I love reading everything YA, especially fantasy books and books with royalty. I started reading about a year ago but I never really stuck to it. To change that, I decided I should keep track of my reads and then I found the 2017 challenge in Goodreads and this group. Also, I've never been in book clubs and things like that so I'm looking forward to the group :)

Despite being new-ish to reading, I learned that I can be a fast reader if I really liked the book. Or I could be a snail at reading if I lose interest in the book. Now that I have this group to help recommend amazing books, I believe that this year, I'm going to be a pretty fast reader and so I'll try going for 50 books.

Hi everyone, my name is Manny and I live in Los Angeles. I originally found this group in December 2016 and seriously considered joining then but I felt I wouldn't be able to keep pace with everyone. I set a modest goal of reading 12 books for 2017, but I am currently halfway through my ninth book so I figure I could at least double my goal for this year. Crime and Historical fiction are my favorite books but I have read quite a few different genres so far this year.

With a new goal of 24 books for this year, I am excited to finally be a part of this group and look forward to hearing about everyone else's goals! Happy Reading!

Hi! I'm Nikki from the state of Wisconsin. I'm usually more of an observer, not so much a participant, but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm a big reader and also a middle school English teacher. We're encouraged to use social media, but this is the only social media I'm comfortable using, so I'm stepping out of my shell and getting involved a little.

I enjoy reading mainly young adult fiction to keep up with my students, but also enjoy the occasional Stephen King, general fiction, and science fiction/fantasy genres. I feel Stephen King deserves his own genre with his amassed collective works.

My 2017 goal is 60 books. In 2016 I was aiming for 75 but didn't quite make it, so I lowered a little. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze in a few more though this year!

I'm Charlotte, from Alabama. I've been a Goodreads member for several years, but have only in the last few days looked into the groups here.

I read a lot--physical books, Kindle books, audiobooks--but have never taken the time to keep track of how many books per year until now. I've set a goal of 52 for 2017, and have reconstructed what I've read so far this year from library emails. Having read 29 books as of this morning, I think I need to raise my goal. I have a particular love of mystery, thriller and suspense titles, with my current favorite authors being Michael Connelly and J. A. Jance. I also love historical fiction and non-fiction both. I am also a writer, with a trilogy of books in print.

I have joined a few challenges here before realising that I haven't introduced myself!

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I've been a Goodreads member since 2009, and I've read books since I can remember. I love reading Urban Fantasy, Science Fiction, Literature, Contemporary, and YA.

I had a period of reading slump last year, and I really struggled completing my annual Goodreads book challenge. This year though, I found BookTube and realised that there were a lot of Book communities online - I did a quick search and found this group. This group is such a refreshing change for me, as I don't really have a lot of friends who love reading as much as I do.

My reading goal every year has always been 100 books (including fast reads like Mangas and Comic books). Because of last year's slump, I decided to change my goal to 50 this year. However, now that I have found this group, I have a high hope that I'm going to be able to complete 100 just like my previous years.
