Thank you for the encouragement! I work full time, have a family and a house to take care of. Also I really into BASEBALL! I am reading more than I did this time last year so I am doing better!

I read all the book genres but my genres are fantasy and literary fiction.I am currently reading a short story collection, The Animals by Abby Geni and so far so good.
I was recommended to this group by Goodreads.
My reading goal this year is to read more about a total of 10 books and so far am on track with two books already read.

I like reading very much, but as is the case for many - I suppose - the busy life often gets in the way of reading as much as I would like.
I just recently discovered goodreads and am very exited about this "new world"... I hope this community with its enthousiasm for reading will help me create the time to read more...
I mainly like reading fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, mysteries and thrillers, but occasionally I also like to "taste" from other genres.
Being from Belgium I mostly read in Dutch, but sometimes also enjoy reading in English...
My goal for 2017 was to read a total of 30 books...
However, since I just recently started with a series of books with over 700 pages, I'm not really sure anymore that I will make it... But we can try!!!

My reading goal is 100 this year, I forgot to set it earlier on so I failed to enter other books I had read this year, but that's okay! I'm ready for an even harder challenge.
I generally read Fantasy, mystery, thrillers, manga, and yeah. I'm not a fan of romance books but if I have to I will, maybe when there's action and fantasy involved then it's okay!
When I read, all I see is a movie, it's as if I'm watching a movie not reading. I get so involved that people have to tap me or take the book away in order to get my attention. Haha.

P.S- i read from my kindle.
Thanks in adv.

Sorry Abhilekh, can't help you there. English is not my first language so I don't understand every single line myself, but that's ok with me as long as I understand the story/what's going on. I choose to not look up every single word I don't know because that slows down my reading way too much. Reading in English does however improve my English.
Besides that I'm a slow reader so I don't read a lot of books myself. I'm starting with 12 books this year and hope to get to 24 a year someday. I would love to read more, there are so many books on my TBR list, but I have a busy life working and I love to do other stuff as well. I do experience that reading more in English helps me read a little bit faster + I read faster in my own language, but I will never be able to read 100 books or more like other people in this group do. But hey, we're all different, not everybody is a fast reader, and that's ok. Most important is that you enjoy reading the books you do read.
I wish you good luck and happy reading!

Heylo! I'm Tasnim. I love reading {obviously}, writing, singing and being in the limelight. I have Wattpad [probably the reason why I somehow have managed to read so many books but can only put a fraction of them here].
Anywho, hopefully I can get back to reading books that are published. Otherwise I'll fail this challenge without actually having failed it.

I hope you all have a great reading year!

Thank you! I've been a very avid reader almost all my life, but I've been reading less and less lately, so I really want to be able to read at least a book a week (I also need to get to that tempo, especially with non-fiction books, for my studies, so...). I also REALLY need to make a dent in my ever expanding library.
Thanks for the welcome!

- Where are you from?
I'm from a small industrial town, in a metropolitan burough, within West Yorkshire, England.
- What kinds of books do you like to read?
Any, all genres of literature retains various forms of intrigue - whether it be socially, historically, characteristically, politically, conceptually or possesses some form of individuality, within it's works, that's different from other genres - though I do love a good book with great, heady descriptions and robustious dialogue.
- How did you find our group?
Through the community group link.
- What's your reading goal?
My current reading goal is set between sixteen and twenty-four novels.

I'm from Pittsburgh and I'm excited to join this group! Recently I've been really into memoirs, true crime and human-interest fiction. Some of my favorites are the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (I actually met her once!), The Liar's Club by Mary Karr and an old favorite, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
I love books that some might call sad – I think they show both human strength and vulnerability.
Anyway, I've been wanting to join a group on Goodreads for awhile and this one seemed perfect! My 2017 goal is to read 40 books. I've read about 10 so far.

I'm an IT project manager working in Colombo. Reading is my first love and I've been a bookworm all my life. My other big passion is photography. So I try to divide my spare time between that and reading.

To abhilekh and everyone else, a few years back I read this great book, How to Read Literature Like a Professor: A Lively and Entertaining Guide to Reading Between the Lines, and it made reading all books entertaining, even ones that were poorly written. I loved this book because it doesn't preach and doesn't need to be read cover to cover. I hope this helps.

I look for biographies of:
Bette Midler,
Sally Field,
Olympia Dukakis,
Cybil Shepherd,
Danny Kaye,
Family Erskine and Family Durham of Grange (both Scotland).
Appreciate your help!
Suzanne

I have quite a varied reading taste but YA is probably my genre of choice. I am definitely trying to read wider though. I study English Literature at University so I'm trying to get back into reading for fun.
I'm hoping to read forty books by the end of this year so I better get pull myself together.

I love all kinds of fiction and thrillers, but I read anything!
My goal this year is to read 52 books and I hope I will succeed :)
I found this group and wanted to join because I'm thinking you will all be a source of motivation!
Thank you !
Gen

Thanks!

I am an engineering student so I don't think that I will be able to participate every time. But I will try my best.My reading challenge for 2017 is 100 and I have covered 24 .I love reading young adult fiction, romance ,paranormal and fantasy books.

I'm sure everyone feels the same and that we are getting to reliant on technology and I want to take a step back away and take time to just sit down with a good book.
I've never been one to read much but for the past 7 months I have been volunteering in Sri Lanka and found that I am able to just sit back and relax with a book (on the beach i might add) on my days off.
I don't really have a favourite genre at present I'm open to any suggestions I'm just currently coming to the end of the first game of thrones books so definitely anything along those lines and I'd also love to get into the old classics so please let me know any of your favourites :)
