Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2017!

My name is Christina and I am a big bookworm who has a to be read pile that just keeps getting bigger. I have been a member for years and this is the first group I have joined.
I have set a goal of 15 books for 2017. Hoping that joining this group will give me the little extra push needed to achieve that goal. I am currently in the middle of my second book of the year Career of Evil.
I don't really have a favorite type of book I read fiction, memoir, biography/autobiography,history, fantasy and mystery . I basically love it all.
It's nice to be here !

I am from the UK
I read a mix of things, contemporary, historical fiction, literary fiction, and thrillers mostly
My reading goal is 45 at the moment but I have already read 20 books so I might increase it. I read 60 books last year. This year though I am trying to review everything I read on my blog!
Feel free to add me as a friend!

I like reading almost anything, but i have a special love for fiction.
I found this group when I was looking for a 2017 reading challenge, and my goal is to read 70+ books before 2017 ends.

My name is Mandi and I live in sunny Los Angeles!
I've been reading a lot of memoirs lately, but I usually stick to fiction. I joined this group to expand my bookshelf with all different types of genres! I stumbled upon this group while searching for a community that had a broad range of titles.
Right now I'm reading I'll Tell You in Person by Chloe Caldwell. Hoping to read 20 books by the end of the year!

Good luck with your reading challenges :) Hope you find some great books!

I live in the US, Georgia to be specific.
I like to read non-fiction books, leaning heavily towards fantasy/magic.
I found this group by simply browsing the groups on goodreads. This one just happened to catch my attention.
My reading goal is to read 50 books this year. I am hoping to surpass that.

I came across this group as one of my GR's friend is added. I have a goal to read 15 books, out of which I have already completed 6. I think this is great as last year I read only 10. :)

I'm really not picky when it comes to genres - I'll read anything really. I'm currently reading 3 books. I like to switch genres every couple of days. I'm currently reading the Beautiful Creatures series, Night Music by Jojo Moyes and Mischling by Affinity Konar.
I'm planning on reading about 30 books this year as my personal challenge. I look forward to reading about the books you are reading and maybe being inspired to read some of them myself.

Welcome fellow Dane! Goodluck with your goal of 30 books :)
Hope you like it here.

Good luck with your reading goals! :)

My name is Maya, I'm 30 years old, wife, mother of 5 kids, live in illinois and clearly I love reading!
I enjoy nonfiction and memoirs but have recently been getting into a lot of fiction. My reading goal last year was 50 books in the year and I met that goal and actually read more than that. This year my goal is 100 books in the year!

Welcome and good luck .

For my 2017 Reading challenge goal that I can try finish read 60 books before Dec 31 2017. Can anyone refer me to awesome books. Right now, I am read Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children.

I don't really have a number goal of how many books I want to read but I currently have two (smallish) shelves full with books that I really want to get through. (Yet I keep buying more because Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places to go).
I am excited to get started and be able to talk with everyone about the books we read. Since we are at the end of March I will get started with the April book soon!

hello Betsy :) I used to live in North Carolina. Curious which your favorite genre it was?

I used to read quite a lot but then stuff happened and I stopped reading altogether. So not long ago I started reading again but often find myself too tired to read or just not in the mood. I do remember how much I enjoyed reading and I long to feel that again.
I started out with a goal which I thought would be definitely possible to attain so as to not get demotivated. I'm almost embarrassed to say after reading all of your posts but my goal for 2017 is just 12 books....1 a month, surely I will be able to reach that goal, right??
I like most genres, do have a preference for fiction though, so I can just lose myself in the story. I just LOVE it when a book can make me forget where I am, who I am and everything else in this world and I just 'disappear' into the story being told.
Well, I guess it's time for some reading ;)

Hi Amber!! I have really been loving psychological thrillers lately (Gone Girl, The Girl on a Train, What she knew, etc.) I am really into books that are made into movies because I love comparing how I pictured things in the novel to how the movie portrays them. I would LOVE any book suggestions you have of any genre!

I love that books that are made into movies too :). Right now I am read 3rd Novel of Miss Peregrime's Peculier Children :)

My favorite things to read are tearjerkers and fantasy I think. I'm going to try to read some nonfiction this year, but hey, I like what I like!
Looking forward to participating in my first challenge too, should be fun!

I am from India, Namaste. ;)
I have read and liked classics like : Pride and Prejudice and Daddy Long Legs
But I also like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter (who doesn't?) and other dystopian fiction like hunger games and the Divergent series.
I found this group out because it is the first thing that popped up :)
And my reading goal is 40 books for this year. I have finished 23.
Currently reading the 11th book of a Series of Unfortunate events.

Welcome Anoushka. Nice to know a 14 year old interested and willing to read except academic books. :)

I wish you all a good day and many read books! :D

Hello Aga!! I am in love with the Anne of Green Gables series too...I have read three books so far and am desperately trying to get my hands on the remaining books. I always though Mr. Darcy was the perfect leading man but ever since I read AOGG I think Gilbert Blythe has the qualities to give Mr. Darcy a tough competition :D

Ever since I was little I could always be found reading some book or another and with all the hustle and bustle of daily life after graduating from uni a couple of years ago I seemed to have lost the time to read, luckily I came to my senses (and to goodreads ;-) ) and I've rekindled my old love for books.
I like reading all kinds of books from YA, over mysteries to fantasy. Often I'd choose a book just for its cover regardless of the genre and I love to catch up on some literary classics as well.
My goal this year is a modest 12 books, which I'll probably have to edit rather soon as I've already read 6...
I'd love to try my hand at some challenges as well like the POPsugar challenge and the one run by Modern Mrs. Darcy, so we'll see how that works out this year.

I'm very happy to be apart of this group and I am excited to meet new ppl. I'm always looking for new recommendations! I am looking to expand my knowledge on the classics (new and old). I'm also looking into expanding on poetry, I'm definitely a novice in the poetry field though, so please if you suggestions keep that one it mind too! Thank you!!!
