Hello! I'm Emma from Maryland. This is the first group I'm joining on Goodreads (though I've been on here a while) Found it just through browsing groups with reading challenges. :)

Rediscovering my love of reading since I stopped reading so often at some point in high school. I've since started loving reading again, and occasionally writing too! My goal this year is 40 books, and my favorite genres are fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, and some sci fi.

Im from Bogotá, Colombia. I have enjoyed Goodreads very much so far, also as a librarian. I had the chance to add many of my favorite books to the platform, as there was not much of Latin American publishing houses when I started.

I also took the step and created my own profile as an author. I have been very bad at self promoting because of my almost clinical grade of shyness but that has cost me to be a little bit behind (at least in comparison to other writers of my generation).

So yeah, I write a lot ( the goal is to finish three books this year) but, in order to do so in a more or less decent way, I also read "a lot": 200 books for this year.

Non fiction, poetry, graphic novels, books for kids (I have a three year old son).

Hi there. My name is Nikki and I live in Florida in the US. Reading is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I love that it takes me away from my everyday life and puts me into someone else's. I love all genre of books, especially fiction and paranormal. I have a beautiful 9 year old (soon to be 10) who is also a reader, but would love for her to read a little more. I have been married to my husband for 11 years this May. He is NOT a reader (aarrggh), so he doesn't understand how I can read much. Lol.

I am really looking forward to reading more this year. Life gets away from you so quickly and before you know it, you haven't read a book all year. I'm hoping this group will me motivated to spend my downtime (what little I have) reading more.

Hey there, I'm Brigitte from Jersey. I found this group going through the PopSugar challenge (which I am attempting for the 3rd year running). Never actually finished, but I'm going hard on this year. I mainly read fantasy (urban more than high), sci-fi, steampunk, murder mysteries, and historical non-fiction.

Guten Nachmittag! I'm Wren, a British bookworm from a small industrial borough in Yorkshire. (My town is built upon a Roman army settlement which was called Lagentium, Anglo-Saxon roundhouses and one of Oliver Cromwell's secret encampments!)

I don't necessarily have a specific favourite, in terms of genre. However, I do find phantasmal novels and historically fictitious novels great. My goodreads goal is to read 24+ books this year! Last year I managed 12. I want to push myself this year, because for a couple of years I fell behind on my reading and either rarely read or didn't read at all. (Before that I was a young bookworm who devoured a novel a night!).

I suffer with major depression and anxiety, and reading really helps me to cope with my mental illness. I love that I can escape my reality and live in a whole different world.

What I love about reading is how vast it is. When you dive into a book and see another existence, your world expands and most of the time it takes your breath away. Sometimes you might end up hating a book but that's all part of the experience. A book has its own life. The people in the book become your friends or enemies.
