message 406: by Sara (new)

Sara | 328 comments Well, many were short and I literally read all the time (driving in traffic, bathroom, washing dishes etc.). I work full time and have 2 kiddos under 3. I read at night and basically don't watch TV anymore since its mostly on daniel Tiger. LOL. Thank you for the compliment.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Moving on up to the east side...no make that towards Darcy's Library....slowly but surely, I know you will make it there also. Good work!

Lenora Robinson | 174 comments 50 Memory: Volume 3, How Far We Have Come: A Tale Of Pride And Prejudice

This moves a little slower than the first two but is still just as good. Mrs. Bennett gets her comeuppace in the most public way.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Lenora, you are now leaving the Catherine Moreland Level and will be soon entering the Emma Woodhouse Level. The footman will direct you to the library where a comfy chair is awaiting your pleasure. The food is excellent and we hope you enjoy your stay at Emma Woodhouse. Congratulations on your progress.

Mr. Darcy's Library is so large "I'm sure you will bother nobody in that part of the house." Mr. Bennet's Library is much more crowded.

message 432: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments Guys I don't read anything like as much Austenesque as any of you but I'd hate to leave this group. I love the banter and the chat and all the recommendations that come with it. I'll try to do better.

message 433: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Teresa-you'd hate to leave the group?
Why would you even dream of it?
Membership is not dependent on the number of books you read or the level you reach in a particular year,it's based on a shared love and appreciation of Austen's literature.
You love Jane's work, have loved her books and continue to read variations of such when you're in the mood for a good book!
Life has a habit of taking over and out best made plans don't always see the light of day.
Whether you read hundreds of books or none, everyone's welcome to post a comment or not,as the mood depends! So chat away!!!

message 434: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments Mary, my voice of reason as usual. I was reading a post on some part of the group and they were saying that if you read lots of other genres maybe you're in the wrong group and I thought---wait---that could be me. But ye're stuck with me. The chat on this group and my Georgette Heyer one, keeps me going.

message 435: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments I'm gone off on a thriller tangent with the last 4/5 books I've read. And yes,I've been very quiet here, not posting. Now it's all swings and roundabouts!!! I'll get my JAFF mojo back and I'll devour loads in this genre and comment till the cows come home!! Any plans for Easter, apart from eating loads of eggs?!

message 436: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Teresa wrote: "Guys I don't read anything like as much Austenesque as any of you but I'd hate to leave this group. I love the banter and the chat and all the recommendations that come with it. I'll try to do better."

I have gone off to read North & South variations (by a JAFF author), the last of the Outlander series and now Jennifer Joy (another JAFF author) has sent me the second of her new murder mystery series so I do read other sub-genres, also. Stick around, the more, the merrier as they do say.

message 437: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments Unfortunately Mary can't eat Easter eggs. I can't tolerate dairy and some of the ones made for the likes of me are not very appetising. I'm hoping to have a relaxing weekend and get as much reading in as I can. Hope you enjoy yours Mary. Have an egg for me:):)

message 438: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Teresa- I rarely but an egg as I find they have a different taste to that of a chocolate bar. But i think I'll treat myself to a Terry's choc. orange. I love them!!!! Have a lovely Easter. Hope the weather is good!

message 439: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Teresa, GoodReads is about reading. The groups and sections were developed to allow readers a chance to fellowship with like-minded people about books they have read in common.

You could belong to half-a-dozen groups and still be in good standing with each group. When you read JAFF, post in Austenesque. When you read other types of books, there is probably a group for you to post them to.

If I understand the technology correctly, you probably receive the news-feeds from your GR friends. You can pop into any group you want to comment, laugh and joke with us and have a jolly good time.

Now... no more of this leaving the group. You are a member with us... OK? Even if you only posted one JAFF for the whole year, we still want to hear from you. If you read our reviews, you can comment if you wish or not. Participation is not required... it is optional.

Read what you want and... read for the sheer pleasure of it. There is no right or wrong here. Just enjoy yourself. We encourage each other and enjoy each other's company.

message 440: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments There is a group titled It's Not Jane Austen, But It's Really Good and there is a group about films. (Austenesque Film Club under Assorted and Sundry Matters) I post in those occasionally.

Love seeing all the books toward your goal. And good to know a little about them. Like Jeanne, love seeing Lydia had a good role in the latest.
