I'm sure there are many, Patricia.
The ones that comes to mind off the top of my head was the old Jean Plaidy books and a series I read just one book from, but want to go back for more. It was Mary Perry Hart's Queen Victoria's Daughters series.
Here is a GoodReads list I found that you might also find helpful since it's Queen Victoria in fiction books: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...

Have you all seen this?

A life size bronze statue of Jane Austen is to be placed in the Market Square in Basingstoke. I rather like what I can see of it in the photos of the maquette. She looks active and full of life!
What does everyone else think?
Thanks for sharing the article on the new statue for Basingstoke's Market Square. I like how he is imagining her responding to a greeting while she's out walking.

Thanks for passing on the link.
I think it went out of print. You'll probably have to watch for it second hand or at an on-line marketplace.

Okay guys, fun question.
What do ya think? Do we have a Harlequin P&P retelling or no?
You have to check out the bolded part at the top of the blurb. Eh, see? It's a definite maybe. ;)
But seriously, I'm curious now so if you know about it let me know.

Other than the title and the bolded part, it doesn't seem like it has much to do with P&P. Hmm...

Harlequin Flame or whatever that steamy imprint is would like "The Trials of the Honorable F. Darcy" by Sara Angelini or "Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star" by Heather Lynn Rigaud. Both are modern, fairly original plots.

I went and found the books and for some reason, even though I set the date as today, it didn't show up so it wouldn't list them. I reset the dates and all is well. Leaving this here in case someone else has that problem.
Oh good! Glad you figured out the quirk, Talia. I had that happen with a book about a week ago, but it did show up after I clicked it through a second time. Perseverance, lol!

Then start again by posting 'currently reading', alter your dates and then update progress.
If that makes no sense or doesn't work,my apologies. It's the only thing I can think of.

I've figured out that GR automatically enters a date when you change it from "to read" to "currently reading." If you enter a date yourself, it acts like it's a reread, even though it's probably the same date, and that's why it says you read it twice when you didn't. At least that's what I've deduced from playing with it!

For doubles, guys.
Click on 'my books' at the top of the page. Then you'll see in small print at the top 'batch edit'. Click on that. Then look over to the right in small print and click on 'edit duplicates' (or however it calls it.) This will give you a list of all books showing as duplicate in your shelves. Scrolling through, you can click on the editions and then delete the one that is extra so you only end up with one.

If I have previously opened the book, prior to the conversion, I can manually click it by going to the 'about this book' box and changing the status that way.
When I open the book for the first time, the 'about this book' box pops up and the toggle switch is there. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this.
Like Debbie said, when I manually try to put the read dates in... it messed me up. However, if I let Amazon/GR do it, I didn't have any problems. Then, when I post my review, before I hit save, I scroll to the bottom of the page and it will tell me if it is a duplicate and I can X out the extra entry.
If you have already posted a review and it says 'read 2 times,' and you haven't, you can go to the review and edit it... scroll to the bottom and X out that second book. Or, as Sophia suggests, remove all duplicates at one time with her suggestion.
Lots of ways to tackle this little glitch. After a conversion, there are always a few problems to work out. Once it is running more smoothly, and we understand all it's little quirks, it will be very convenient and we won't remember the old ways.
Hang in there guys. We have lots of help from Debbie, Sophia, and Nicole to dig us out of problems.
Good extra info, Jeanne. I have noticed the new ability to count 're-reads' has created more difficulties than we had in the first place. LOL.

Such is the grief and joy of a conversion. We'll get it and, as we said before, there is lots of help to get us through it. You guys rock.

Hey Myra!
As far as Austenesque, I thought the Darcy's Hope books and Bluebells in Mourning were knocked off sock-worthy.
The latest Patricia Briggs, Silence Fallen and Mary Balogh's new The Westcotts series was great, too.

I second Sophia's choice of the Darcy's Hope books; Darcy's Hope: Beauty from Ashes: A WWI Pride & Prejudice Variation and Darcy's Hope at Donwell Abbey: A WWI Pride & Prejudice Variation by Ginger Monette.
May I also recommend The Many Lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy by Beau North and Brooke West?

I've heard many good things about that book, Mary. It's the only one of Cat's books I don't have.

I loved that book! It was a treat to find the references to P&P, too.

Are we having a Someone Pick It For Me in April? Can't see a thread started yet.
Yes, we are, Anji! I was waiting a little, but I can get it up this week for lists to be added. I know I've got a good one started already in my head. :)

Sophia, I have decided to clean out my TBR pile and the list I will create, I will keep until it is empty. So, as I mark off books, I'll keep submitting the same list until those older books are GONE!!! Otherwise, I am never going to pick them. It's a plan.

Ooh, that's a good idea, Jeanne!

Hahaha! Well at least it was a good one, so not wasted. ;)
