Nicole Clarkston is a book lover and a happily married mom of three. Originally from Idaho, she now lives in Oregon with her own romantic hero, several horses, and one very fat dog. She has loved crafting alternate stories and sequels since she was a child watching Disney’s Robin Hood, and she is never found sitting quietly without a book of some sort.

Nicole discovered Jane Austen rather by guilt in her early thirties―how does any book worm really live that long without a little P&P? She has never looked back. A year or so later, during a major house renovation project, she discovered Elizabeth Gaskell and fell completely in love. Her need for more time with these characters led her to simultaneously write Rumours & Recklessness, a P&P insp

Hello, Rita! Lovely to hear from you.

Well, I have a N&S about 1/3 complete, but (sorry to say) I am putting the final few chapters on a P&P first so I can go back and focus on John and Margaret. I am hoping you will see it by fall! I know that Trudy Brasure also has some surprises in the works, so hopefully we will feed your craving soon.

As for why more authors don't swoon for John Thornton, I think people are just starting to really discover him. I believe you will start seeing more in the future, but while they have many similar themes, N&S has a very different mood to it than P&P. I think it may be an acquired taste for some, but a worthy one!

If you pm me your address sometime, I will send over some sample scenes from the new book to tide you over. Have a wonderful summer!

Well, the good news is, you are not alone. Quite a few authors and reviewers have been talking about this exact problem this week. I believe Amazon has made some policy changes that are not well known. You could try writing to customer service, but since it is a bot patrolling the ads, they may not be able to override it.

Either way, I deeply appreciate your efforts to leave a review! They mean so much to me. I do hope you enjoyed the book! (less)

"I enjoyed this a lot, as it features Heyer's usual charmingly idiosyncratic characters and a wild storyline. Romance is non-existent, though, making the marriage proposal at the end seem out of place with the rest of the story.

Nicole Clarkston Thanks Sophia for the welcome! I am just starting to navigate this wide world of goodreads and all of the writer's pages out there. I was trying to find out where I can read your work but so far it has eluded me! Congratulations on being recognized for your story!

Sophia Hey Nicole!

Thanks for friending me! Look forward to seeing you around GR and especially in Austenesque Lovers. Glad to know about your books as I love both the works those are based on. :)
