You guys. THESE CHAPTERS!

swoon

So many heart-wrenching and swoonworthy moments that we don't know where to start!

How about that conversation between Mal and Alina? THE FEELS!

quote

And that Nikolai / Alina kiss? And then the second, almost-kiss?

“I want to kiss you,” Nikolai said. “But I won’t. Not until
you’re thinking of me instead of trying to forget him.”

I mean, sure. Alina's all:

feels

And the #Malina shippers are all:

awkward

And meanwhile, anyone who's Team Sturmhond is off in a corner going:

awkward

Basically everyone's interpersonal relationships are a hot mess and we can't wait to read what happens next!

I know a lot of people who wished there was more Darkling.

Ally | 6 comments Does anybody else notice that Mal grabs Alina's wrist twice in Siege and Storm and in both instances she claims there was a "shock"? What do you guys think this can mean?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

FIREBIRD -- She also says her wrist felt empty.

message 7: by Ally (new)

Ally | 6 comments Well yeah but I feel like this "shock" is connected to Mal himself...thanks anyways though! I feel the need to liven up this board

I know. . . .I meant maybe Mal is the Firebird. . . .

He isn't the firebird, Mal needs to leave the books he is very annoying. Sorry to be so mean about it.

Bridget | 5 comments I don't think Mal should leave the books... but I agree that he is a little annoying.

If Mal was the firebird I would get really mad. It doesn't make that much sense. Wouldn't Alina have noticed those signs before?

Carina Olsen (carinabooks) | 672 comments Oh, how I love this book. <3 But I will never get over how heartbreaking those scenes between Mal and Alina were :( Mal loves her so much. I just wish she would show him more often that she loves him too. Hopefully in Ruin and Rising :D

I don't think Mal is the firebird either. And as for the mysterious sparks when their hands are touching, perhaps that's just the romance between the two?

As for my feelings for Mal, I relate to his fear on loosing Alina but he can be insensitive to her and a jerk. I honestly think that Alina is better off with Nickolai, he's such a charmer!

And does anyone else think that the Darkling is in love with Alina? I mean, those hallucinations! Especially that bed scene which I thought was really creepy! Or is it just me???

Meida Morgenstern Lantsova | 221 comments I also thought it's creepy, when he suddenly showed up in his bedroom the first time Alina entered the room, and it got more terrifying when Alina closed her eyes and forced herself not to scream (I gave her so much credit for being able to do that!) ... but when Alina opened her eyes again and hoped he's already gone, he'd stood in front of her instead! I don't know, If I were Alina, I might have throw my shoes at him for scaring me like that hahaha ,,

but it's the Darkling,, regardless of how scary he's been here, I want more of him. Oh don't get me wrong, I'm also infatuated with Strumhond/Nikolai (whoever he wanna be), and his presence truly fills the gap that was once the place for the Darkling. But when the Darkling is back... Nikolai's gone instantly. Damn the Darkling certainly knows how to make his appearance... unforgettbale and demanding all of my attention
