ABANDONED. Historical Romanace - heroine is teased with the name Duchess

I am looking for historical romance novel I read in the 80s or 90s. I thought it was a Jude Deveraux Montgomery or maybe Elizabeth Lowell book but I cannot find it in either of their book lists.

The book is about a young lady who is the daughter of a duke/duchess (?) that secretly goes to the wharf to say goodbye to her girlhood-crush. While there she is kidnapped/shanghaied to America. She spends a number of years as a slave/indentured servant on a plantation along a river. She creates a logo to help sell the plantation crop. The logo is recognized by her girlhood-crush who comes to America to take her home.

Any help with the title/author would be great.

Lost Lady and The Flame and the Flower have a dock-side-kidnapping-sent-to-plantation theme, but I don't think the heroine is seeing off her girlhood-crush...

Could it be a Catherine Coulter book. CC has a book historical romance where the male hero calls the heroine Duchess. She is the illegitamate daughter of a Duke and her mother was his misstress. She has to earn her way and it turns out that she writes limericks. There is some hilarity when American cousins visit and they end up talking in rhymes.

I am sorry i didn't read all the way through your post. Your book is by Arnette Lamb I believe. Highland something. I cant find the books now but there was a whole series of 4 sisters.
