A man swerves and crashes when wolf crosses the road, wakes up in a different world

The book is probably written in the last decade. When a man wakes up after a car accident everybody and everything around him is different than he remembers it to be. He does not know weather things have really changed or if the accident have affected his memory.

Possibly Pines ? This book was made into a summer series last year that I watched.

The premise of Pines seems very similar (small rural town and all), but this was more of a psychological thriller than an action story. The man wakes up in his home town with his near and dear ones, but all the relationships have changed. He now has a girlfriend who he remembers to have died when they were young, friends are not friends and enemies are not enemies in this new "world".

I don't remember many details regarding occupation and such, and I never got to finish the book so I couldn't spoil it even if I wanted to. That is why I would like to find it again.

How does he make a living after the car crash? Is he rich or poor?

What country is the story set in?
