Jack Cheng (jackcheng) | 5 comments Hello! The book page currently has an outdated cover, which uses a previous title (we dropped the "Carl Sagan" for publication). The new/official cover is here: http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/boo...

Thanks in advance,
Jack

Advanced reader copies have gone out with the current cover, yes. The title/cover was changed shortly after those went out.

Jack Cheng (jackcheng) | 5 comments Not sure if this helps, but it says the following in the "Adding an alternate-cover edition" section of the Librarian Manual:

ARC Exception: Advance Readers Copies or book galleys are occasionally added to the site with the ISBN number of the future published edition listed in the ISBN field. In this case, the ISBN number should be removed from the ARC edition and shifted to the first published edition. To do this, delete the ISBN number from the ARC edition. Then add a Librarian Note stating that this is the ARC cover and the ISBN number is being moved to the published edition. You can then add the ISBN number to the published edition. Please note that this is the only case where an ISBN or ASIN should be removed from a published edition.

Would the move, then, be to 1) create a new edition with the published cover/title, 2) restore the old title to this edition with the ARC cover, and then 3) make the ISBN changes as indicated?

Yes. The manual is very clear on this issue.

ETA: @Jack, don't forget to clearly mark the ARC edition as such once the ISBN is moved and to also update the discarded covers of all the other yet to be published editions (audio, kindle etc) and then set the default edition to the one with the officially published cover.
