MountainKat | 31599 comments Let's reflect on the best and worst of the previous month's books.....

I know I can get so focused on what is next that I forget about all the wonderful books I read for the previous month's challenges! I can't even believe it is December already?! Before we know it, we will be trying to remember to write 2017 and messing it up for weeks (months!). I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, but now that the leftovers are gone, what did you read last month?

Did you find some gems? DNF a few? Find your new book boyfriend or a heroine who personifies TSTL? Come on, we all want to know! What were your standouts for October?

MountainKat | 31599 comments I read so many fabulous books last month! The Lightning-Struck Heart was hilarious and got me through a tough week! Deadly Descent was narrated by one of my absolute favorites, Kaleo Griffith, and reminded me how much I enjoy Kaylea Cross! The Trouble with Mistletoe was delightful and a great start to some holiday reading! The two In Death books were great as usual too. But probably the best, and that might be because it was the last one I read, was Slow Burn! Pamela Clare can do no wrong in my book - I love how she writes and this new series is so wonderful!!

No duds for me this month! =)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Oooh yeah! I had a shocker in November, and one that was wonderful :D

The good stuff: Rattlesnake by Kim Fielding by Kim Fielding. The precis hadn't particularly interested me, but I'd recently read another great Fielding book and this was one of two options rec'd to my in a challenge. So I backed KF. What a wonderfully well-put together story. I just loved it. 5 stars!

The not-so-good: A Caleb Footlong (The O'Hagan Way #2) by Joyee Flynn by Joyee Flynn read for a challenge. What a waste of time. The story was random and all over the place; the characters were caricatures and bad ones at that; toooo much stupid and nothing of interest. 1 star.

Fran | 12278 comments My favorite read of November was Focus on Me (In Focus #2) by Megan Erickson . I really enjoy a road-trip romance, and this one was a really good read. We even got a little glimpse of the couple from the first in the series, so bonus!

My least favorite was Heart of Ash (Tryst Island, #4) by Sabrina York . Very disappointing. I enjoyed some of the others in the series, but the hero in this one was just unlikable for me.

MountainKat | 31599 comments Fran, you had the same experience as Jane!

NayNay My fave was Vulnerable (Morgans of Nashville, #4) by Mary Burton It was a perfect end to the MORGANS OF NASHVILLE series

My least fave The Secret of Raven Point by Jennifer Vanderbes She joined the nurses core during WWII to find her missing brother...the whole book was about her and the patients she took care of, she did nothing to find her brother that was MIA.

Connie N. | 1316 comments My only 5-star book this month was, of course, Eve and Roarke: Survivor In Death (In Death, #20) by J.D. Robb

A surprise for me was our F2F book club book--I rated it 4.5 stars: The New Yorkers by Cathleen Schine

My least favorite was a YA--I rated it 2.5 stars: Get Well Soon (Anna Bloom, #1) by Julie Halpern . The only consolation was that it was a very quick read.

Hahaha! I'll bet Fran didn't rate her second one with a 1 star though ;)
