message 57: by Lakpa (new)

Lakpa Tashi Bhutia (lakpatashi) Request to the Mod (Manju):

As we all get excited and waiting is torture to some. I request Mod to make strict timeline for this challenge from next month onwards. Because still some of the participant didn't got their pick yet, including me. I gave an example of timeline below, (change as you wish)

TIMELINE
Jan 15-19, 2017: Participants will Post their shelves.
*If you do not list a shelf, you won't get paired you with anyone.
**Cut off on Jan 19: 11:59pm (IST).

Jan 20-24: Pairs will be posted & then Selection of a book and posting it for your pair.
*Please try to select for your pair ASAP.
**Cut off on Jan 24: 11:59pm (IST).

Jan 25: Re-picks for those who didn’t get the pick.
*if the assigned pair didn't responded, then Mod may pick the book for the participant.

Advantage of timeline:
*It takes only 11 days. (rather than 30 days, so you have lot of free time)
**You don't have to visit thread again and again, only to see whether your paired has responded or not. (Since you know the timeline)

Yay... one of my best reads of last year... or was it 2015? But I loved Illiicit happiness a tad better than this one.

message 64: by Arpit (new)

Arpit (arpitjoshi) | 1332 comments Em, I choose Moloka'i for you to read.

message 65: by Ahtims (new)

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 47124 comments Mod
Okay... thanks :)
Have been wanting to read it forever... (forever... loosely translated to 5 or 6 years)

message 66: by Aadhithya (new)

Aadhithya MS I finished Saloni's pick "The Girl On The Train". Thanks for the suggestion. Multiple narration was engaging, but I felt at some points that suspenses were overly safeguarded (in thought and actions of the narrators) than in real life. It was a page turner for sure. Enjoyed reading it

Arpit, finished Moloka'i a couple of days ago. Loved it, despite the grim nature of the book.
Here's my review

And my read was much more enhanced by the fact that Manju buddy read it with me. :)

Rebecca wrote: "I was never assigned a book. A bit late now. I'll try again in March maybe."

Rebecca, it seems Vaivaswatha didnot respond.
If you dont mind, I can assign a book for you....

I choose...
The Night Circus
A magical book that I read and loved.
But a word of caution - one has to go slow with it ... and give it time to invade ones consciousness.

No worries. Take your time. It is a book that is to be savored and read.
