Jen | 323 comments Hi!
So this is a suspense romance. It starts when the psychic heroine is young, (maybe a teenager) she is in a room with two cops and she is trying to pinpoint a kidnapped victims location by using her abilities.
Its hard for her because she has passed the limit of her abilities. (I think she has headaches when she uses her abilities). While they are in the room there were cops in their cars out following the directions being given to them.
She was having trouble telling them a specific location/house and the cop was being hard on her. Pushing her.
However when they find the victim he/she is dead. The cops were disappointed mostly with her and she was beating herself up about it too.

Fast forward a few yrs later... I dont think she works with the cops anymore.

The hero may be a jaded cop who doesnt believe in psychics.

Thats all Ive got.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Jen | 323 comments No that's not it. I distinctly remember that the above happened in the prologue or maybe the first chapter. I'm 95% sure it was in the prologue though.

Gerd | 221 comments Is it something recent?

Maybe Jodi Picoult's Where There's Smoke - I only know the short story though, not the book it belongs to.

Aerulan | 1317 comments You're welcome! I'm glad to be reminded of that one, I haven't read those books in ages I think it may be time for a reread.
